J'avais 13 ans à l'époque et j'adorais Dieuleveult. Je croyais fermement qu'il réapparaîtrait lors des jours suivants. Et puis le corps de votre frère a été retrouvé, j'ai été anéantie... Aujourd'hui encore, je me demande comment un seul corps a pu être retrouvé alors qu'ils étaient sept et équipés de gilets de sauvetage (ça n'empêche pas la noyade mais théoriquement, ils n'auraient pas dû rester au fond). J'imagine que la zone pullule de bestioles peu sympathiques, mais tout de même...

@@lindavee2250les courants et le volume d'eau extraordinaire à cet endroit du fleuve rendent les recherches pour un corps extrêmement difficiles, il se peut qu'ils sont restés coincés sous de la caillase ou des troncs par exemple.

Aldready 30 years since P. De Dieuleveult (0:31/0:32) and this team died here. Four drowned, the 3 others were... executed by Congo's military, who thought they were spies, whereas they were just shooting an extreme sport documentary. Thanks for having them included in the vid.

There is no evidence whatsoever that they were shot. The French intelligence agency failed to prove this in their investigation

He heard the story of seven people died... He is right. It was on August 6th 1985, the Africa Raft expedition which disappeard in these rapids. Philippe de Dieuleveult was very famous in France. Only one member was found, two weeks after, 150 km further : he was drowned wtih a broken arm. The other were never found.

I've been anxiously awaiting for this video to come out since we heard about it at the National Paddling Film Festival in Frankfort, Kentucky back in Feb. From what Steve Fisher told about this EPIC event, I sincerely hope the video is long enough to contain it all! I think the Inga Project should be a mini-series by itself!!

In general I'd agree, but there were two English guys who paddled a 230 mile stretch of the Congo in a native dugout - and they slept at night in the dugout while it was still afloat. Stark raving bonkers.
