What a brutal way to go out of the playoffs. Four extremely close games that you lose in increasingly gut-wrenching fashion. This what happens when you get infested with rats.
Deserved and I’m glad Hurricanes man is back but holy hell we didn’t think we’d get this far without Svech and Patches but 3 playoff seasons with consecutive ECF sweeps makes you wonder if we are cursed
Well jeez being a Bruins fan still sucks right now, but at least we took the apparent team of destiny to 7 and really was a Marchand breakaway from winning the series in 5. Still sucks though.
As a Lightning fan, I'd like to thank the Panthers. They've so thoroughly embarrassed teams that losing to the Leafs in the first round has somehow been buried
I'm not even surprised at this point. I knew it. I knew it the moment the Panthers beat the Bruins. I said yep, this will be the team to sweep us this year.
Seriously. I’ve never seen a team do so many things right and play so well, and yet completely break themselves upon the indomitable wall that is Sergei Bobrovsky.
Dallas is likely about to get swept in a one sided thrashing and we get swept while playing quite well all things considered. Just bad finishing and a disappearing act from a few star players combined with Bob playing out of his fucking mind. Lots coincided to get us here but there's no excuse for missing the target in situations where we had the goalie beaten already. Wasted a lot of opportunities to win both the OT games. We knew finishing was a problem for this team but it showed badly here. I'm optimistic about next year though, if we resign the right players and make 1 big move this team can be genuine cup favorites.
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLEIGH! WE WERE AT A BRINK OF PULLING A REVERSE SWEEP AGAINST THE PRESIDENT TROPHY WINNING NEW YORK RANGERS FOR THE SOON ENDLESS MEMES BUT WE INSTEAD BLEW A 3-1 LEAD AND HAVE MADE A LITTLE KID CRY!! BUT STILL COME TO OUR GAMES!!
They better be paying that DJ handsomely. I still remember them breaking out the John Cena theme music during one of the many brouhahas in that Panthers-Sens game late in the regular season 😂
I never thought I'd see my team to the Cup Final. Believe me when I say, we Panthers fans are just as shocked as everyone else. This is such a wild ride.
I don't live in Florida anymore, but I was there for the '96 run. Still sport my Vanbiesbrouck jersey and have some coke bottles featuring them from the '96 run. This is just about as exciting and unexpected as then. Just hope they don't have the same outcome in the SCF. On the other hand Colorado was extremely stacked at that time (Forsberg, Sakic, Roy, etc,). I think they have a better chance this time.
I am both disappointed the Bruins lost rd.1 but also happy because the Panthers are so fun to watch. It's like the Lions in the NFL last year, except they actually made the playoffs. Most exciting NHL Playoffs I've ever watched.
@@TheKisj that’s just a team being in the basement, Carolina has been “good” for 2 separate stretches since 2006 and haven’t won a game in the ECF. That is Maple Leafs level of choking
@@StuffyNose69 is it? I mean the leafs couldn't get out of the first round for almost 2 decades. i'll take all the ECF losses over that allllll day long
As someone who sat through the 19-inning 2-for-1 Astros vs. Mariners game... As a Mariners fan I was cackling like a madman from the surreal, record-breaking experience. I can only imagine some people at the 4OT game were experiencing similar emotions to that.
One of my friends was at that game. Unsurprisingly, she had to call off work the next day. She also lost her voice. One of her coworkers emailed her to say "OMG, I'm so sorry" and her reply was "You kidding? Best $99 I ever spent."
RRRRRRRRAAAAAAAALLLLLLIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH WWWWWEEEEEEEEE BLEWWWWWWWW A CHANCE TO FORCE A GAME 7. NEXT YOU MUST VIST HARTFORD THE REALLLLL HOME OF THE WALERS PLEASE COME OUR GAMES
@@tehbeernerd Yeah. My wife wasn't happy at how the Canes just got plowed like a cheap date after her Devils got rolled. But the Devils are young and a good damn team. They'll be back.
@@tehbeernerd This sounds like someone who just saw the 4-0 series kinda and nothing else. Two of four games want into overtime, and the other two games were still only decided by a single score. The Canes were competitive every game, and arguably outplayed Florida in the entire series. A couple of different puck bounces change the outcome of this entire series, to the point where a sweep happens on the other side instead. Hockey can be brutal, and this is just one of many examples. As a Panthers fan I respect that Carolina competed to the final horn, and recognize how much fortune we've had throughout for these results.
@@starwarriorterra8373 I’m not so much ashamed by the sweep as I am that the Panthers figured them out hard, while we were outmatched and outcoached a round earlier. But I’m looking forward to next season for sure.
I'm not super-down on the Canes. The Svechnikov and Pacioretty injuries finally caught up to them when facing Bobrovsky. They will come back next season relatively unscathed, at least in my opinion. It was honestly a great year overall, we just need our goal-scorers to return and to be healthy.
@@Outta-hz1ej Svech? No, because his ACL injury happened AFTER the deadline. As far as Patches is concerned, the deadline prices were deemed by the FO to be too ridiculously high for the big pieces. They probably were right about that, since the ones that splurged went out golfing far before the Canes did in the playoffs.
And it's 2 games away from being "Conglats Knights". And a Miami Heat loss on top from Hiei Mays selling a new product: The Mean Green Reverse Sweeper!
The Panthers followed the 2022 Phillies playbook in terms of being the team that no one expected to do anything coming into the playoffs, and pulling a championship appearance out of nowhere.
I always love the Brass Bonanza schtick with the Carolina Hurricanes, what was this about a bomb threat? I know there's having passion for your team, but that's extreme.
Hey Tree, I would just like to say thank you for turning me into a hockey fan. All your hockey videos, dating way back to 2018, helped me get into hockey more and more. Your Hurricanes Man skits especially got me into hockey by having a team to root for. Their storm surges, their underdog story, that magical game against Game 7 against the Capitals in OT all got me to become a Hurricanes fan thanks to you and your funny videos, even as someone from the Chicago area. Even though their playoff run ended in a painful fashion this year, I still like their underdog tale and the team chemistry they have, and will continue to support them. I remember a quote you had said in a Haters Guide to the NBA Finals. It was: “Go watch some hockey you’ll thank me later.” Well, once again, from the bottom of my heart, I would just like to say thank you for getting me into hockey and for making great videos.
What this series and this whole postseason has taught me is how how badly Matt Tkachuk needed a change of scenery. Tkachuk needed the Panthers as much as the Panthers needed him. He’s already a legend in Florida for this run alone.
2019: get swept by the Bruins 2020: Lose in 5 to the same Bruins in the first round 2021: Canes lose in 5 to the Defending champs in the Tampa Bay Lightning 2022: Canes lose to the Rangers in 7 2023: THE CATS SCRATCH YOU AND SWEEP YOU! Sucks 2 Suck Carolina.
NOW BE PREPARED TO DIE. VGK is going to stomp the Panthers. But just in case they don't, there's no other team I'd rather lose to more. God damn have they been amazing!
Makes sense that they would be swept four Conference Finals in a row. After all, hurricanes lose strength as soon as they hit landfall, and the deeper they go, the weaker they get. Therefore, hurricanes were a tropical depression by the time they reached the Conference Finals. 😅 What about the cup win, you ask? Simple answer: Hurricane Hazel 😳
Bet all these pros will still pick the panthers to lose against Vegas. Can’t believe how many podcast pros picked canes over panthers. Where’s the common sense boys? This team beat the bruins. They fully believe in themselves. They are locked and loaded.
Canes Man I wish you were back in better circumstances. It's true this might have been the best chance for them to win a Cup. When is it going to be the next time that Boston and New York will be out of the way?
As an Avs fan I had no dog in this fight, but man I have to say for a sweep this series was EPIC. So much drama, so many amazing moments, great saves by all three goalies... BY FAR the most entertaining 4 game series I've ever seen. Hope the Panthers can finish the job.
