Minnesota congresswoman Ilhan Omar joined the protests Thursday at Columbia University. She was with her daughter who was suspended from neighboring Barnard College for participating in demonstrations that resulted in over 100 people arrested for trespassing. Congresswoman Omar also visited the University of Minnesota at Minneapolis. There the congresswoman delivered a very thoughtful speech. Great oratory. Better than tweeting. By invoking the memories of MLK and John lewis, she was able to make the crucial point to the young protesters to remain "steadfast". . . In the same way MLK and John Lewis did, despite many arrests, police beatings, ostracism from their own peers, they remained steadfast in their moral stance Seeking Justice. . , not only for people they personally identified with, but also for total strangers facing genocide half a world away. Both icons of American history were not considered Heroes while they were alive. But they remained STEADFAST in their pursuit of a Cause... Because the "Arc of history is long, but It ultimately bends towards Justice."
