+toonpik7 Rumor was walmart (and other retailers) didn't like it uncensored and they caved into pressure of it not being sold. Which was odd since it came out only a little bit before San Andreas (had way more cussing).
I could say the same thing about the N64 version, that thing looks like a giant dripping fudge sickle. The remake's version gives him more of a corny diarrhea color, which is a bit more disgusting looking. He may not have a runny texture anymore, but his arms are actually dripping splats of poo, which was not present in the original version. Regardless, both versions have their strengths and weaknesses in my opinion.
Microsoft, instead of shoving Conker into Project Spark you do a proper remake of Conker's Bad Fur Day and uncensor what you censored in Live and Reloaded.
Oh one of those special snowflakes who says "am I the only one who prefers this shit or the other shit" when everyone else in the comment section has said the same thing.
Both have their strengths and weaknesses. The N64 version had runny textures, a gunkier looking mouth, his eyes are less static, and the yellowish tint in his eyes gives him a more monsterous appearance, and there's no censorship, however, his color scheme makes him look more like a fudge monster than a pooh monster. The Xbox version on the other hand shows crap running off of his arms, which gives him a more disgusting appearance, along with looking shimmery like actual poo. His less runny appearance on his body is a bit more believable, since poo hardens over time, so a less runny appearance kind of makes more sense. I personally liked the audio from the Xbox version a lot better. The censorship never bothered me, and it made it a little more comical in my opinion. I loved how deeper, louder, and more clear Chris Marlow's voice as The Great Mighty Pooh sounded. I felt the N64 version's vocals were a bit stale in comparison, but more golden voiced on the Xbox version. I really wish Rare included Live and Reloaded on Rare Replay. I don't care if they don't port over the multiplayer mode, I just want to play the remake of Bad Fur Day again, and it would be great to see it in HD...
Whoever did the original work could have made better use of today's tools... The newer one 'looks' better in detail but it moves like a brick, the animation of the original is way more expressive.
the reloaded version looks nice with the ambient lighting, and conker's model, but the GMP in the original has better animation in the subtle movements, like how his eyes follow conker's position, or move about according to what he's singing. the rolled version just....stares blankly ahead, as if he's singing to Noone at all.
Nobody ever seems to comment how the Live and Reloaded team fucked up on the GMP's eyes. They don't fucking move. It's like he saw something on the far wall and can't look away. Also, I'm making this my ringtone.
If there's one thing that really urks me about Live and Reloaded is that they censored it more. You know, since they didn't want kids swearing. Well they might as well remake this game and uncensor it, since kids a swearing alot now and no one cares about it.
I'm not sure the reason, but that's probably not it. The game is rated M, so I highly doubt the reason for the censorship had anything to do with kids at all. Maybe they thought the censorship would be funny. Who knows.
I think, the original is better, because, well, it is in my opinion way more sympathic-unsympathic. You know, what i mean?;) (+it gets extra credit, because retro style is awesome and, let´s be serious, the old graphics of this game look WAY better :S)
The N64 version might look rough today. But it looks so much more complete and charming than the remake. The Xbox version is missing so many facial expressions and animations that it lost most of the game's personality. I'm not even nostalgic here, I've played the Xbox version years before I could get my hands on the actual N64 version.
Both have their strengths and weaknesses. There were some parts that looked a lot better on the Xbox, but many other parts that looked better on the N64. If I could list which versions had the better version of something over the other, they would go as followed. Xbox Version: -Conker looked overall better, with a lush and fuzzy appearance, and still containing most of his advanced facial expressions from the first. - The levels looked much better as well, and even included a lot of fun easter eggs hidden throughout, even right at the beginning, when Conker wakes up from his hangover, there are so many fun and humourous things lying around, like the N64 version of Conker's war helmet, and a milk carton that says "Ingredients: It's milk, you fool!" The Spooky Chapter had the best make over of all. They extended the level by adding that horror like town setting , along with the bloody river. Even Batula's manor looked a lot more haunting on the Xbox. Not to mention Conker's Van Helsing get up. - That hilarious easter egg of Cooper from Grabbed by the Ghoulies being drunk and throwing up in the file 3 save slot. - The sound quality, sound effects, and music were more clear and sounded a lot better. - Most of the character designs looked a lot better, especially Birdy, Greg, and the Gargoyle. - better controls, and a much improved camera control. - The Cog chasing bit of Bat Tower was a lot easier, and less time consuming. - The peeing mechanics from the Boiler Room, and the Rock Solid Club segments were less frustrating, and easier to use. - The lighting, shading, and water effects were a lot better, along with level and character textures - The Zombie Hunting parts of the game were a lot better, along with the flying as a bat segment. - The entire war sequence was a lot more fun, and less frustrating than the N64 version. The Casualty Department sequence had a cool twist of having that giant Teddi burst out, along with the funny addition to the electric chair sequence. It also recovered an uncut scene from the Beta N64 version, where the Tediz shot a bunch of captive squirrels, during the part where you rescue rodent. The N64 version originally had about 2 other squirrels tied up along side Rodent, but Nintendo didn't like it, so they gave one of the Squirrel's dialogue to Rodent instead, and removed the other two squirrels. The Xbox version restored that scene to it's originally intended pitch. - The catapult controls for Conker's context sensitive segments were a lot better, and even had a cross hair. As for the N64 Version - Better blood splat effects - Conker killing the N logo intro (I'm still sad the Rare Replay version didn't try altering that scene in a way, and ended up cutting out the entire scene instead... I miss it...) - Much better multiplayer modes - better facial expressions - the weapon selection bit from the game's ending was a lot better. It gave a better insight of all the weapons Conker was going to choose from, not to mention the sound effects weren't implemented well at all in the remake. I remember Conker picking up a crossbow in the remake, and saying double action, while it made a shot gun chuck noise (what the heck?!), and the N64 version made the part where he pulled out the samurai sword a lot funnier. It looked like he was eyeing a rocket launcher, when he instead grabbed a samurai sword, the Xbox Version didn't even show what weapons were in front of Conker at the time, which kind of killed the humor of that moment. - The Electric Eel part of the war level - The controls for riding Fangy in the coliseum were a lot better and more responsive. - Conker's extra idle dance animations from Rock Solid - the butterflies in Windy, along with Conker whistling to the tune of Windy when standing Idle long enough. - less censorship.
SpongicX if the original from a low fund and resources looks any where near "equal" to a remake of she same exact game decades later with advanced technology development, than the original is instantly better. Always.
Honestly the main reason I like the N64 version better(I bet I'm one of five people who noticed) The mighty Poos eyes don't move at all in the Xbox version. The N64 he looks around and all this odds and ends while the Xbox it's like he has glass eyes.
No, lots of people noticed it. It received a lot of criticism because of the lack of facial animations, which were perfect already in the N64 version. Amazing what a difference just a little bit of eye movement can make, huh?
I prefer the original version. It looks childish, graphics are simple and it's uncensored. It's a lot more offensive when something that cartoony actually is hardcore. The remake looks grim and more "realistic", which takes away a lot of charm from the game. You kind of expect it is offensive
Also conkers face in the remaster is too furry so it doesn't move as much, his facial expressions are a lot smoother in the original. Specifically at 1:45
The N64 version win. Why Microsoft censored this was just odd, and as for people saying the "graphics are better on the live and reloaded one means it wins" is as shitty an argument as the Great Mighty Poo's domain.
mechking4511 how is that not a valuable argument? Yet "ERMERGERD THEY CENSORED IT SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH IN LIVE N RELOADED!!! INSTANTLY INFERIOR THAN N64!!!
They both look great! But, the original just looks more gross. I don't know how to put it, but the original one actually looks like poo, whereas the remake looks a bit too much like chocolate.
I have both and love both. There is no winner for either because they are both the same damn thing! The original is the best for original story and game throughout. The Xbox version is best for remastered graphics and multiplayer. Either one wins as it is. The same thing with key differences on each version. Competition wise: just play the game and quit bitching!!!
That one thing I hate is that annoying *Beep* sound when they try to censor all the ''shit'' in conker live & reloaded. Also, the poo's eyes actually focus conker in the first game rather then starring at a wall in the live and reloaded one. The first one also seem to be a little more detailed with slime in it's mouth and so on and fa more grouse then the new one.
I enjoyed both versions. I played the N64 one first and couldn't get enough of it. Then when i found it they remastered it, i wanted to play it again. The first time i showed my friends their mother was all that is gross.
I prefer Live and Reloaded (mainly because I don't have an N64) because of the graphics and all that, and I like the GMP song better on Xbox, but I like the design of the GMP on n64.
Bad fur day. Conker is more vibrant, the text looks like from a comic book which is fitting for this game, and they're actually allowed to say shit and twat.
I agree with both of you; graphics are cleaner in this one, but honestly, who in their right mind would think that making poop look cleaner is a good idea?
Am i the only one who actually likes live and reloaded? Like, i know the censoring was annoying, but it looks great! I think the N64 version looks terrible. That's just my opinion though.
N64 has better springier expressions and the non-censored cusses add to the comedy even though cusses aren't funny on there own at all times , it just sounds fucking cathartic to hear half the shit this game has to say on the N64 , I'll NEVER get over that charm and I'll NEVER stop being impressed by the graphical power of the N64 ! Yea thats right ! The powerful nintendo 64 ! I said it ! Certainly can't be called a weak console with all its good games usually being graphically and technically impressive . Meanwhile all the xbox has to add is GRAPHICS GRAPHICS GRAPHICS with no soul and it still doesn't impress me with how the game turned out with the shittier redesigned characters ( for the most part ) less cartoony art style and worse expressions and censored swears drastically lower what the game was MEANT to offer : A funny and creative entertaining story with clever humor , and while the gameplay is goofy , lets face it , the gameplay is 90% crap or just substanceless gameplay with not much thought and it usually is retardly simple or just flat out FRUSTRATING , and yea the xbox one clearly has better gameplay and thats awesome and all , but you want the real definitive version ? Fucking get your nintendo 64 or emulator and play it where it shines most . People also need to see how else the remake fails beside JUST the censored swears argument .
Conker L&R wasn't meant to be censored at all it just censored a few parts that bad fur day didn't that's all it's still basically the same game except multiplayer
