Here in Brazil, CONMEBOL has always been heavily criticized because of Libertadores and Sudamericana problems. Everything works fine in the Brazilian championships where CONMEBOL doesn't have control.
A bit late to comment but i was at the game, to start we had to go around the stadium because we had to enter North east. The north east section was a nightmare, people cramped up, security refusing to open the doors, screaming at each other and fights with children around. Whats worse is that we paid for those tickets and when they finally opened the gates it was a stampede and didn’t scan a single ticket basically saying we wasted our money.
Oh trust me World Cup 2026 which is coincidentally also happening in America, Canada and Mexico is going to be way worse than this year's Copa America Bro

Na this is the issue now man. Every event I got to in LA, whether it be a concert, and even when I went to the Brazil game at sofi, they have incompetent security all the time. It’s like they find the nearest high schoolers on the street, pay them minimum wage and all they tell them is stand here and do nothing, you will get paid. They don’t control anything from the parking, to the security check. I always have trouble either leaving or entering the stadiums here because of the unorganized and incompetence of the security, and that’s on the organization for not hiring serious security. Instead they hire kids who have no idea the passion that comes with these kinds of games, they give them no run down on the event and what’s gonna be going on, and then stuff like this happens. It’s just inevitable when they take a final like this and treat it like a Taylor swift concert. Shows how out of touch the US is when it comes to the passion of this game. It’s not the Super Bowl this is the copa America final I don’t think they realize this is a diffrent level of love for a game that we don’t see here often.
I had the complete opposite experience at the third place game in charlotte, only 25K fans in the panthers stadium so there was plenty of security and stadium workers for concessions and merchandise and no line to get in.
Ueffa (when it comes down to euro and enjoying the game) isn’t money hungry and football is a wide European sport which everyone loves. On the other hand , America only care about the money not the sport to the point where tickets costs 1k

They aren't on their own to be fair, look at the state of the UCL final in 2022 between Madrid and Liverpool that's all on UEFA and they even tried to blame the fans for what was happening

I feel like this is part of a bigger problem, I don’t if it’s been talked about already, but think about how bad it’s gonna be when the World Cup comes? I don’t think the problem was the security, it was the unexpected amount of ppl from these countries. Just think about how our borders are rn, you don’t think that’s gonna spill into this scene? Look at the nba finals or the nfl games? It doesn’t happen there. Soccer is supposed to be under those, yet this is happening? I was thinking about trying to go see some matches during the World Cup here in 2026, but after this, I don’t think it’s worth going. Ridiculous that America wants to host the World Cup despite the glaring problems it’s facing.

The previous Euros had similar problems with fans rushing gates, but that was really the only problem. For Copa 24, that was the least of their many diff problems. The overall organization, staff, and officials were all terrible.
Between the disorganization, low refereeing standards, pitch conditions, travel/safety issues, the World Cup is looking in shambles if these issues don’t get ironed out

If I recall uefa and the French police were made to apologise for attempting to blame fans for the horrific way in which they treated fans...they lied about fans without tickets causing problems and the delay in kickoff...it was a lack of trained staff, unable to process the thousands of fans with tickets and local gangs robbing fans outside the ground that caused the problems, all this came out in the public enquiry...ticketless fans were categorically not the issue, despite the press releases made by uefa at the time trying to shift the blame on to fans...uefa and the French police flat out lied and were forced to apologise later, unfortunately most football fans aren't interested in public enquiries and as a result many believe the lies uefa told that night to save their skin

How? These stadiums host major events regularly with no problem. The organization of this competition has been terrible top to bottom. From terrible fields, ticket prices, and lack of security that’s all on Conmebol to organize and maintain and they’ve failed at it.
