I love the size, layout, and control setup on this! Looks like it doesn't have mobile device integration like the 6, is that correct?

Doesn't have a dedicated mobile input/output but still is class compliant, so it will work with mobile devices. You just need a Camera Connection Kit and external bus power. And you still have have a mobile streaming mode via CONTROL CENTER that will sum inputs 1/2 to mono.

For best results, you'd want to use a reamp box to convert the balanced line level signal to an unbalanced instrument level signal that you're amp would expect to see.

Just send your 1/4" output to the direct input on CONNECT 2 and you should be good to go.

Very impressive indeed! Perfect for vox and instrument (and maybe loopback?) recording or perhaps gigging with amp. I'd only wish for higher input impedance for double bass piezo pickup but I have a small buffer amp.

Yes, it has a loopback channel (inputs 3/4). The Hi Z input is a differential input and is designed to work with a variety of types of pickups--active or passive.

If only Connect 2 had the DSP effects (or control center in general) of Connect 6 - it would have been such an insane audio interface! It is the only thing I really miss in Connect 2, and in Connect 6 there is no Hi-Z input, and the headphone output impendence is quite high 😔 Looking forward to Connect 4, which will take the best from both previous cards! Or at least I'll be dreaming about it

Other reviewers had issue with a "clicking noise" of electronic shorting and the lack of precision responsiveness of the dial. I think the idea is brilliant, but to get the pricepoint they should not have skimped on the control dial. What are your thoughts?

Hey thanks for your comment. Regarding gain clicks, this phenomena occurs with most digitally controlled analog preamps (in different intensities). In practical use, changing your gain during a performance is highly unlikely especially if you are using a compressor and clipguard, so it makes the issue irrelevant. Regarding the control wheel, we did a lot of testing and experimentation to make a UI that is both super easy-to-use and flexible. We did not "skimp" by any means on it. However, we are currently working on smoothing out the responsiveness via a firmware update since for some people the experience isn't as sensitive to their touch and can cause gain jumps.

Hey Lewwit, I’m new to the streaming scene, mainly doing coop gaming. I’m seriously considering the Lewis 2, it’s small and has just the right amount of hardware ports for my needs. Does the software have virtual inputs? Right now I’m running voicemeeter since I can have my mic on one input and my media, games, and comms on a different input. I also run a speaker system on my pc for movies and media when I’m not streaming, will I be able to have control the volume on the speakers from the program? The speakers are plugged in via usbc or optical. Voicemeeter has 2 outputs so I can route my headphone through one and my speakers through the other.

The app is only available for Mac and Windows. The interface itself works with iOS devices, but we don't have a mobile version of CONTROL CENTER. However, settings will be retained when you disconnect from a computer.

No, we used stacked AD converters to achieve the additional headroom without degrading the audio in any way. The headphone output is loud enough to drive low or high impedance headphones. We have a high impedance mode in the setting which gives you extra level to drive higher impedance headphones

the control center looks a lot different than the connect 6. Are there any features that the connect 2 is missing compared to the connect 6? I want to be sure that I am not limited in streaming. Is the noise reduction availble on the connect 2 and connect 6?

Yes, CONTROL CENTER is a bit different for reach interface because they have different feature sets. Both have a denoiser, compressor and low cut filter. But CONNECT 6 has more control over the parameters of the effects and it also has a 4 band EQ which CONNECT 2 does not. Both have streaming and mobile streaming modes, but CONNECT 6 has more routing options for mixes and loopback. CONNECT 2 has a few features that CONNECT 6 doesn't though--including 3 preamp sounds and clipguard. Be sure to check out the website to see the full list of features.

@@LEWITT-audio thanks. that's kind of unfortunate. I liked the control over parameters. I'll never use a preset. They are always "meh": And no clip guard on connect 6? Why? it's just software. Seems lame that something that useful isnt on the larger version. seems odd to limit the routing. This is what worries me. My stream is my stream. I should be able to route it with either device. Someday, somebody, is going to create an interface that checks all of the boxes :(

CONNECT 2 is designed to be extremely approachable and easy to use. If you like the extra control then CONNECT 6 sounds like a better fit for you. Clip guard isn't just software--it involved the hardware as well. We use ADC stacking to achieve this, and the headroom is about 20dB, and in higher gain settings, even more. And 20dB is 10x, meaning a signal can be 10 times louder and it still does not clip.

No, CONNECT 2 is just XLR mics (and instruments). Yeti USB mics don't need an audio interface. They have analog to digital conversion built in.

There a few people experiencing non-ideal behaviour with the scroll wheel, but we are already working on fixing this with a firmware update.

Hello LEWITT team. I was just curious, when was the release date of this interface? Also , I just ordered one from Sweetwater. I’m excited to use it , but I was wondering how old of a Mac OS can I use this with ? I’m still on MAC OS Mountain Lion running Cubase 6. Is it possible I’ll have issues with this ? One last question I just thought of if I may , let’s say I have two or three headphones I need to plug in that all require a little more juice for accurate playback ( Beyerdynamic DT 990) . Would a simply headphone splitter work or am I able to use a headphone amp to plug in to the back of the Connect 2 , then route it to the headphone amp with multiple headphone jacks ? Thank you again. Sorry for all the questions.

A quality headphone splitter shouldn't impact the level much. So I think you'd be safe using a headphone splitter if needed.

I don't agree that the ability to change the colors of the buttons are "just for looks"... I think the ability to give different buttons different colors, especially in a studio environment is something that could save a lot of time... For example, if you have a midi controller with transport controls, you already know that the red button is for starting or arming recording so you can press it without looking at it or even thinking about which button to press (at least I do this)... It becomes like tacit knowledge after a while (things we do without thinking about it like knowing which tap is hot or changing gears while driving without looking at the gear lever).

CONNECT 6 does have the denoiser! It's just called an Expander. You also have more control over the parameters.

I have a connect 6, and as good as the expander is, it doesn't work as well as the example on this video. As good as I tune the expander, noise still leaks when I talk.

That is the nature of a gate or expander. It only cuts out the noise between words where its most noticeable. The expander in CONNECT 6 is the exact same as the Denoiser in CONNECT 2.

An expander is very effective in this case because her voice is still much louder than the fan noise so it's not noticeable when she is speaking. An AI powered noise removal effect is quite hard to pull off in realtime due to the processing power required.
