This is a quick tutorial on how to connect the Yamaha 6YC Information Station Display.
Let me know what you think and drop me a comment.
Always struggling to find out how to do things on my engines.
I like to do them myself, so I post it online so you guys have a quick and simple tutorial.
I am in no way a professional, I am just trying to help the average boater with simple tips. If you're not comfortable working on your engines, do search for professional help.

Supperr Nice Video!!! Congrats for the channel. Its Super! One question: From speed it calculates Avg Consumption? Can you explain better please? Please keep up the great wok on this channel!

Hahaha thanks mate. Yeah man with the 6yc receiving the speed information and knowing the engine rpm. That way it can calculate the average consumption. It's not 100% accurate. But it gives you an idea. Cool thing is that if you have another way of measuring the accurate consumption. You can adjust it on you 6yc display, so you have a precise reading. Hope that helps mate.

Such nice video Ricky! Is a GPS receiver with the following characteristics suitable for 6YC: RS422 protocol, GNSS GPS GLONASS dual mode receiver 12V, NMEA 0183, 4800 baud rate.

Hello: I tried to connect according to your video, only connect the blue wire (TXA) to the white wire of 6YC, NMEA0183 is also set to 0183 standard, turn on the analog mode and set the speed, but it still doesn’t work on 6YC Seeing the time and speed, what did I do wrong?

6Y8-8356N-01-00 Lead, Fuel Tank & Gps Sender, Yamaha how do you connect this wire to get you the gps and fuel feed?? I plugged it in the 6yc but not sure where the other end goes

Where am I going to get the gps signal? Is there any cheap standalone gps units?

Thank you for this video. I followed exactly. Yamaha White + from 6YC to Garmin 94 sv Blue, but not seeing gps or time. Still getting three dashes. Are we suppose to leave the Yamaha blue disconnected ?

Update. I got it to work by also connecting the Yamaha Blue to the Garmin Brown. Was not able to work until both the Yamaha white and blue were connected to the Garnmim

Hi, we are trying to connect our Garmin Echomap 73CV to our 6YC, we connected the wires as required but we are not getting any reading on 6YC, it might be a software setup issue, can you help? Maybe we can have a call?

Hi mate, hows it going? Did you connect the white cable with the + sign to the blue thin Garmin cable? Try then changing on the Serial port.

@@RickysOutboardVideos yes we followed exact steps on you video. How would i know if the connection is successful? Because i dont see any clock or gps sign on the 6yc as shown on the manual.

@@raedraffii418 Hi mate. The way you know is when you turn you 6YC on the dash lines on the speed it will show 0. Strange, check in your gps manual if the blue wire is for Transmit
