That is really nice extension board Hanna. You are inside and outside beautiful!!! Well done. please upload frequently because we miss you so much!!! Thank you 💘
What fun! It's great to see Micro:bit on the internet. I think your cat was telling you that it would like a "smart cat house" full of home automation, please and thank you. :)
Great to see you are back! Question: Can you use the Wappsto & microbit as the hub, and have other microbits communicating with the hub wirelessly, increasing the number of locations?
I can't see why not! In fact, that's a really great idea. As long as the other microbits are within radio range that seems like a great way to collect EVEN MORE DATA! Yay!
Does it support logging data to a local server (e.g. Raspberry Pi) instead, for those who don't trust the cloud to be secure or those who want a guarantee that the device can still be used if the cloud service goes down?
It looks like the Wappsto:bit is designed pretty specifically to log data to the Wappsto platform - but if you're looking to log data elsewhere, still over WiFi, then I'd suggest a board like the ESP8266. I know there are some clever people who've already written MakeCode extensions for the ESP8266 to make the process a bit easier too. Hope that helps!
You could probably connect your micro:bit to the laptop over Bluetooth to scratch and have scratch take whatever data you want and put it in a cloud variable to be accessed by anyone. It’s just an idea. I’m not sure if it would work. It would probably be good for temperature monitoring.
