Probably not, I use the short to long training method, and then focus on my 200m top speed mechanics. You could do 10x 100m (30s rest) to improve endurance. I just bought the athlete built savage program and one of the exercises is the eccentric bench press and it has the tempo as [2|X|X] and I am just wondering what it means. Is it just 2 seconds on the way up and no time for iso and concentric?

The first number is always eccentric portion of lift. So a controlled 2 seconds down then explode up.

It's all about variability. In a different phase, week or training they probably incorporate Frontsquats as well. The Boxsquat is just an awesome exercise to overload the top part of the squat movement, the part which is important for athletic movements, which almost always starts out of a base position and not out of a deep squat.
