Awesome , truly economy of motion the true secret of wing chun . Of all the martial arts I have taken wing chun still is my base and this is a drill I will do for the rest of my life . I have a similar drill to this one but it is combined with numeric two level punches to interchange the deflections into strikes . Very well done demonstration i would love to see more of this on youtube .

This instructor is buck diesel, if I lived in CT I would sign up NOW...I have been in the Martial Arts since 1983...Yes, this impresses me, I did not see this drill even when I studied Wing Chun in Taipei Taiwan..(the teacher there was originally from Hong Kong)

@WingChunIpManCT I should have done it faster :) thanks though. that little guy's dad was taking the class. He was really well behaved all considering. I'll have to work on my cropping next time. For now, he's famous :O)

Jack Taylor What is it about the demonstration that makes you call it JKD? These are hand techniques from Wing Chun. Pak, Taan, Bong, Lop, Biu, etc. The other guy is just feeding me straight punches.

It's just an observation! Jkd normally choice explosiveness and movement over structure! You seem to bounce slightly while you roll. I actively teach/practice both and without my jkd training, my wing chun wouldn't be what it is today, so it's definitely not meant as an insult! Thanks for the reply

Jack Taylor I study both arts as well. But this demonstration was to showcase some of the angle and hand changes that could be found with in a classic WC chain punching exercise. Bigger moves come out when you change from one angle to another. Especially when it's against linked punches. Yes. bouncing off the arm is essential to making the next move more efficient. I use the energy of the previous move to cause the next.
