This is my new creation, the M42 and M48 adapters for the Samyang/Rokinon 135mm F2 camera lens! You will now be able to attach your OSC or Mono camera directly to the lens with no special adapters from ZWO. This adapter should work with any lens mount (Canon, Sony, Nikon, etc.). Now the only thing stopping you is the clouds... Clear skies everyone!

This was exactly what i was looking for. I use the 135 on my sony a7iii. I realized when upgrading to scope/mount that my ML camera needed a T2-NEX. Which adds alot of extra BFocus. Looking to run the asi585 with the 135mm.

I have an MFT version of the lens and use an adapter to get it on my asi533mc. You can just get a filter inserted but it's very fiddly and got it stuck lots of times. If you can improve on that adaptor that would be brilliant. Maybe incorporate some filter slide out?

One of the most used "lenses" for astrophotography (other than Rokinon135mm) is the Tamron 150-600, and to a lesser degree, Sigma 150-600. I don't know if a straight out "Hyperpod " equivalent for this lens is achievable (which would be fantastic), but a focusing gear that would match up with the EAF and the gear you provide with the Rokinon Hyperpod might be of interest to many. I know the gear alone wouldn't be useful without a support structure for the EAF etc. , but I think I for one, could make it work.

Thanks for this. I have the 135 but Fuji mount, this would still work the same way correct?

This is good stuff and for the Nikon Samyang there is nothing alike in the market as far as I know (And I have been searching for several days). Before ordering, I want to be sure it is compatible with my Samyang with Nikon mount. I am wondering about this because the diameter of the Nikon mount throat is much smaller than that from Canon (I suppose it is the same for the different types of Samyang mounts?). And also I am not sure if these two mounts would have the same number of screws and with the same distribution. Another question is about roughness and durability. I learnt that it is made of PETG, 3D printed. Is it rough enough to withstand frequent screwing and unscrewing against a metallic thread? Is there any info on durability from users yet? How many kilos can I hang on the side of the camera without breaking the neck of the M48? The flange is not cheap, so additional information would sweeten the expense.

This mount is actually only meant for the Canon and Sony versions of the 135mm lens. I have tried it with other customers who had the Nikon version and it doesn’t work. The Nikon version has a much more complicated internal mechanism which is to complex for a 3d printed mount. Your best bet is to use existing lens adapters from Zwo that will work with your camera.

@@Thinkable__ Thanks, bad news then. ZWO adapters are thick and meant for astro cameras (short optical path). A DSLR, even a mirrorles sony E, cannot be used (to start with, the optical path of the Sony E is 18 mm while the system is designed for the 17.5 mm of the ASI cameras).

Great video 👏👍 I have a ZWO EFW and 1600mm camera and am thinking about doing this! Question : Does your lens adapter fit a Sony E mount or is it just Canon EF? Question 2 : Do you ship to Sweden? Thanks Scott

great idea! I have a Player One Uranus C Pro astro camera and Samyang135 f/2.0 Pentax K mount identical as Canon, camera IMX585 has a 17 mm back focus, would work this mount ?

I could not find the OSC adapter in your Etsy site. I have a setup with a 300mm Minolta MD lens > MD to NEX > NEX to 42mm female adapters > ZWO 485MC male 42mm thread. The backfocus is supposed to be 43.5mm from the lens flange to the camera sensor. The 300mm MD lens flange has 4 screws about 50mm across the diameter. I may have some tilt causing odd star shapes and would like to try your adapter for the ZWO one shot color camera and remove the bayonet mounts from the train.

Hi, this adapter is only for the Samyang/Rokinon 135mm lens and isn’t designed to work with other lenses sorry.

Why not just use a canon to m42 adapter and use the canon version of the lens?
@Thinkable__
@Thinkable__ 16 дней назад
That is best, but only if it is a canon lens. The original purpose was for a Sony version which doesn’t have any adapters. It does work on both though.
