Hi bro, after you connect the USB to MacBook, is it a must to connect to wifi also? what I mean is..can the console xr18 connect to MacBook with only using USB? or need to do both?..TQ
Hi! I have Mac Book Air (Mac OS Catalina), Logic pro X and XR18. I connected DAW to Mix via USB and I control Mix by XR18 edit for Mac software using Access Point on mixer. In Logic I see just 2 inputs, not 18 inputs like you in video. Having the same equipment like you I suppose I made something wrong. Could you please recommend me whats 's wrong? I would like to record my band live using more inputs not just two. Thanks a lot
@@BethMcGowan Thanks for interest. I have solved the problem of inputs which I asked you. Sometimes the situation needs just to play with possibilities and learn more and more how to….But I have solved that problem also thanks to your video! To your question: I would like to compose my music by recording all tracks (audio, internal instruments from DAW using my keyboard to controle them). Also I would like to play live with my band (of course not at the same time during composingJ).I am using AP conection.
You don’t need to put your fader at unity unless it’s an analogue desk. Set your channel to around -18 with your input gain for ALL your channels and don’t clip the master fader. Send the signal to logic PRE FADER. Also you need to set up the routing in X EDIT. Look up “gain staging” particularly when recording.
How do we stop direct audio from inputs playing back along with the processed audio in logic at the same time? Wouldn’t they both be going to the main outs of the xr?
@@BethMcGowan Ahh. So will it record, let's say a deum set with at least 7 mics input, then these 7 inputs will have their own separate tracks that will record all the same time like simultaneously?
Hi beth, Thank you for this vidéo... But would you tell me how to send your Drum Mix from Logic to X Air to hear it on my ears or to a sound system on stage ? ;-) Thank you. Skeef from The stick'n Fingers - French Rolling stones Tribute
I’m playing a show this weekend with my band and we have used the X Air system with an i Pad for 10+ shows and it was always very buggy. Tried it with a MacBook Pro and found how much smoother the system ran. Very excited to know I can record the show and mix on Logic...
I’m using a mac as well, OS mojave, I plugged mines in via usb and it doesnt show up on my sound card options. I switched out usb cables but still no sound card recognition. Any idea on the problem?
