Connecting your computer cables explained, and TubeBuddy link for the Creator you want to be...
The Power LED + and - do matter, however the Power and reset don't matter how they go in as long as there in the right location...even if you made the mistake of the Power LED + and - being in the wrong spot it would just not start but would not cause any kind of damage, if that happens just change them to the correct pins and it's all good...
The little white adapter, is the Asus Q Connector...Gigabyte has there's called Gigabyte G Connector...(ASUS 12G05100030B Q-CONNECTOR KIT) the one for Gigabyte often comes included with their newer MBs...

However, at 10:32 he has the arrow going to the ground. He even twisted the cable to install it “upside down” to do so. Given the color coding of the other wires, I suspect the arrow goes to ground instead of positive. I’ll have to research further to verify.

Unplugged these cables to get easier access to the HDD bay and had them separate in my fingers. Not one plug but multiple that are tiny and ..... Anyway, everything done but no power. Figured one of the wires was connected to the on button but was concerned to plug into the wrong slot and possibly damage the motherboard. Then I found this video (MB instructions were useless) and thank you very much. Covered it step by step not missing any key instructions. Well done and thank you.

I consider my self a PC savy guy, but due to lack of funds in my life I have never fully build a PC. I used to buy prebuilds or fiddle with components, but not a whole PC. Recently I finally managed to get funds for my livelihood. Got a nice 1060 6G (was child's play to change it) and gonna go buy R5 2600x with an appropriate MoBo and new case with RAM and PSU. I just got my case yesterday and when I saw all of those wires, I thought to myself, there's no way I will be able to do this on my own. Your simple approach of teaching was perfect. Now I feel I can proceed with a lot less anxiety, thank you. I am not sure if you have done a video on setting up ARGB and RGB fans and light strips and AOI coolers but that would also be very helpful. I know there are a lot of other videos but unfortunately, many are way to advanced for beginners. AAA+++ my friend !

I just assembled a PC for the first time in over a decade and I have to say, the case connections to the motherboard remains the most difficult part and archaic as hell. The CPU has thankfully evolved to remove the pins that you had to try hard as hell not to bend, so I'm glad to see some improvement. I'm sure the cluster of pins on the motherboard that let you connect your case to your motherboard are basically all the same, so how about an adapter I can put on the motherboard and some easier way to connect those stupid little connectors?
@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM
Some motherboards do come with the adapters to plug the LEDs into and then to the motherboard, just wish it was more common...Asus is the most common but Gigabyte has started doing it on some of theirs now as well...
@525Lines
@525Lines 5 лет назад
The motherboard I was working on was ASUS and it didn't have it. Maybe it's something I have to buy. Amazing the cases don't at least make the red wire the power wire.
@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM
Yeah they seem to only offer it for certain one's of the Motherboards they sell, worst part is they don't always mention it when you're buying it, and it's usually their higher end motherboards...I did purchase 2 separately from Amazon, but had to so some research to be sure it could be used, they really need to make that information more widely available. Although once you build a couple systems it becomes easy to do and then you won't need it. The power cable should be marked as power but if not that would make it more difficult...
@525Lines
@525Lines 5 лет назад
Plugging in the wires from the case to the MB is doable but unnecessarily clumsy. How about at least an ANSI standard for standard pin assignments, making installation easier and making adapters worth offering?
@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM
I know there are ANSI Standards but not sure how it might apply toward motherboards, if there isn't one I'd be surprised, there for sure should be as you've said...Thanks...

THANK YOU SIR! After trying for weeks literally, & watching at least 20+ different video tutorials 3 X'z each on the subject matter, NONE were as concise, precise, to the point, & CLEAR with no If & 's or what's period. I FINALLY was able to see success after only my FIRST TRY after watching your outstanding tutorial. The others where CONFUSING & NOT SHOWING THE DETAIL NEEDED TO FULLY UNDERSTAND how to go about connecting the panel correctly to the mobo. Not to mention that I have an OLDER mobo from 2012. So there's no clear & apparent + - pin MARKER signs on my mobo. However. The ONLY words that I could read (with a magnifying glass at that lol smh) were where the HDD LED pin connector went. But that was enough to put 2 & 2 together & I found the rest of my way fairly expeditiously!! What I did was DRAW an exact DIAGRAM on a scrap piece of paper so when I turned my PC off I still had your visual graph to fall back on. & I must say that It worked like a CHARM ahah lol. Almost seamlessly. So I appreciate your passion & SIMPLISTIC, logical, not so common expertise bkz boy I'll tell ya, some of these content creators will have you on a wild goose chase only to end up nowhere, where you started, or even worst before lol Now on to the next problem. Trying to clone my HDD & migrate the data to (Samsung Evo 870) SSD but he data migration software isn't working. I tried a free alternative that I heard good things about to do the data migration but I've ran into a road block with that as well My SSD is BRAND NEW, never used, so I don't know what seems to be the problem. I have decent enough specs (I5 2500K CPU, 16 GB ram, 500GB HD, RX 580 GPU, 1TB SSD, 750W Gold+ battery etc) ... Not that the majotiy of the described has anything to do with data migration lol, but just to say I have PLENTY operating system power & then some. It's something with the SSD's partitions or something to that effect where It's not just copying the HDD partitions If I could get that done I'd boost my PC 5 X'z It is now, & also be able to use my new RX 580 GPU that I can't use bkz It's for use with Win XP, 7, 10 OS. I have Win 8.1, but I was going to upgrade to Win10 bkz I have a free upgrade. & Although I wished I could keep W 8.1 (bkz It's my fav) I am kind of burnt out on It It's just time bkz as a Music producer most of the software is being programmed for Win10/11. So I'm mixing out on technological advancements not having Win10 or better. The cons finally out weighted the pros so to speak lol. I'm missing way too much more in performance now using Win 8.1 sadly! So hopefully this starts of a trickle of GOOD LUCK now that I have my front panel power working fully correctly due to your astute directions. Thanks again Brother & have a blessed day!!! Gonna subscribe to just bkz you sold this very HARD problem & made It simplified, done simply in seconds fax!!

Thanks - especially for the comment about the tiny triangular arrows on the front panel to the MB power pins connection. On Mini or micro form factor motherboards the diagram is often not printed on the MB ( not enuf space ) . It's only down by the pins and only the + is indicated - fine when the leads are individual but when paired & the MB is already installed in 'really tight cases' those Power Sw & Reset Sw connectors can be really hard to distinguish for bad (or older) eyesight, fat fingers, and especially when the triagular arrows on the backside are Black on Black & the Manual diagram shows only the + connection. Yeah, the connector can fit in the right spot, but it's easy to reverse as it isn't 'keyed' like the USB3 connector or Main power connector. Thanks again for the completely Thorough explanation with clear close video. Old guy who only does a build every 4 or 5 yrs !
