(Before every Rock Concert ever) *guitarist says something to the drummer* *drummer appears to not be able to hear* It’s only assumed the guitarist repeats themselves *drummer rears back laughing* *clicks off first song* Never fails
People make weird faces when playing their instruments. Doesn't have to be drugs. I know lots of musicians who clench their jaw to the rhythm of what they're playing.
Unless you're endorsed too, I strongly recommend not to do that. And if you want to actually hear the real tone of your drums and cymbals and not just the attack, and have some dynamic in your playing style I also strongly advise against playing like that
Aaron Smith it's just the over exaggeration of every beat and the ludicrous head shaking. I haven't listened to Beartooth's new album because I don't like the direction they've gone in, and he may very well be better than the previous, but I just can't stand the guy!
+Motherfungler no clue what you're talking about when you say over exaggeration. if anything he brings a bigger, tighter and tastier sound to Beartooth's live show. I see where you're coming from about his head shaking, but that's just how he plays dude. he does this shit for a living, so why not go as hard as you possibly can at every show like it's your last? he was also a student of Aaron Gillespie's for a bit so that's partially where he gets his style and presence from
It's crazy to think that I watched a video of this dude taking lessons with Aaron Gillespie years ago and now he's touring with Beartooth and he's toured with Being As An Ocean. It's awesome.
As a drummer I have to point out 2 things... He starts a show with used, ragged sticks...badass... He hit the the hi-hat on the beat when he...from standing entered seating position...thats pretty impessive :P
Idk. Maybe I'm biased, but to me, THIS is what drumming is about. EMOTION and PASSION. Those are the things I always loved about Aaron and he obviously influenced Connor. Good to see.
Im using a 18" Zildjian Z as my main crash, using it for a month now and I hit pretty much as connor does. Today is my 4th stick pair for a month and my cymbal doesnt have any cracks! Zildjian puts a lot of effort on durability even if its only a Z series. Also, I'm using 5B vic firth american classic sticks
