Went to high school with him. Glad to see someone who was quiet got to express themselves and show their talent to a crowd like this. They're my favorite band right now
1:20 Caleb walks up with the perfectly timed cymbal choke. Nice. I guess Caleb does write and play all of the instruments on their records. So he knows all if the parts in each song really well. As simple as this cymbal choke may appear, it really does make that part sound a lot more badass than of the cymbal just rang out
@@DieParan00bs If you look at live performances of August Burns Red, Jake sometimes does some clean cymbal chokes for Matt. I think it's not as much a question of writing the parts as knowing them and great camaraderie between the band members.
He periodically does a lot of moves that look like hair flips too, he did used to have long hair, funny how those mannerisms stayed. It's definitely his hype and keeping himself high energy :)
soon as I saw that left hand at 0:14 I knew I was in for a treat. this shit had me cheesin hard. Connor is such a monster dude. whenever someone asks why drums are the sickest instrument, I think I'll just show them this.
@@steventurner1628 yea I remember watching those videos with both of them on Aaron's custom Truth kits. I'm not a drummer but I learned a lot of technique from those videos.
Grinning from ear to ear while watching this! Connor is a monster! And I reckon every time he plays this song the fills get more and more elaborate haha
Crazy seeing how far Denis has come. First saw him on his videos of him doing drum lessons with the all might Aaron Gillespie of Underoath. That is why he is so aggressive and has a similar style. Aaron is one of his inspirations
This dude deserves some credit. He doesn't overplay and isn't doing anything super technical but he has some super unique snare fills at uncommon points of the song as well as using his Tom's uniquely. He just has the feel. Can't explain it. Reminds of Daniel Davidson.
He sounds way better in this video than some of the others I've seen. In earlier videos he sounded rough. But this video he kills it!! He is an amazing drummer
There’s something about his energy when he’s playing drums. He loves playing music and it shows. When he’s feeling it and his head starts shaking and the teeth start showing with his underbite you can just feel what he feels.
Naw he was kinda sloppy with BAAO. He's cleaned up pretty well and he's super solid in Beartooth. His aggression fits in better here. BAAO went crazy soft.
One of the more underrated and underutilized drummers currently. He's an absolute monster behind the kit yet Caleb won't use him on the records. Connor is a beast of a drummer. Check him playing with Being as an Ocean.
