Fun thing about Doom is that the director of the game said they wanted to make something for people who don't care about story but still added codex info and mannerisms for Doom guy that add to the narrative for people who pay attention and want a story.

I honestly see where Connor comes from it’s the reason I love character action games so much. Like, if you’re not interested in the narrative but the gameplay is great then yeah, skip them. It’s just that many people have different expectations from the games they play or different games. Connor is just very much on the no narrative extreme and I understand it

I resonate with Grant here. if a game has a good story I tend to rush it just because I want to know how the story evolves, and to see cutscenes. That's why sometimes I have to force myself to do secondary missions and a bir of grinding because sometimes it happens that I'm too under leveled to beat the next story mission

The dragon quest has the same creator as the blue dragon. In fact Blue dragon was an anime as well. I watched blue dragon but hated the game so don’t remember it as much.

I played blue dragon back in the day, good music. Really like dragon quest but what I really remember is the boss music

1st play through:watch cutscenes and play however 2nd play through: get the other endings or interactions 3rd play through: try and go for 100% 4th:speedrun It's just how I do it

Ngl I relate with Connor, Idk what’s up with me but I just can’t mix playing a game with listening to a story. This is why I tend to enjoy watching people on RU-vid commentate on games as they play because I’m not the one playing and I enjoy the story as a form of media entertainment. I’m slowly trying to change this habit though because I feel like I can enjoy games a lot more if I took time to listen through the dialogue and story.

I used to be like Connor when I was younger and then I think when I got older I started to care about the story more. When I was younger all I cared about was having fun and when I got older I really got into games like Uncharted.

Borderlands and Skyrim are simple storylines that are easy for beginners in my opinion.

I played JRPGs and story based games religiously for like 3 years straight and then got REALLY into Soulsborne and fighting games, and now I can’t sit down and invest myself in a game’s story. The only series that’s been able to do it for me in the last year was Yakuza.

BOTW2 needs to have a good ganon somewhere in it. Maybe Conner will actually pay attention if they change it up a bit.

I skip cut scenes if I replay the game a lot, if the scenes make the pacing worse, or both, for example, I skip the scenes in kingdom hearts 2 because I've played it so many times I could probably recite every word of every scene and if I'm playing kingdom hearts 2 for the 15th time it's just for the gameplay, another example is the legend of Zelda twilight princess, skipping the cut scenes in twilight princess just makes the pacing feel so much better somehow

Lmfaoo this hurts cause I be putting +100 hours in every single player Game to make sure I speak too everyone In the game and complete every side quest. 😭
