@WomensWrestlingMoments I’m pretty sure he decided not to accept before the booing started. Besides, Giguere faced the booing and it was a lot more hostile in New Jersey.

@@jdm90121 Giguere has said it was the most awkward moment of his career. When he got to locker room with trophy he had a trainer put it into the washroom stale to keep it out of sight of the other Ana players. McDavid 100% deserved it, but strange situation.

Generally speaking the conn smythe goes to the best player on the winning team with rare exceptions when someone on the opposing team does something historic, ie what McDavid just did. Assuming you’re American I find it odd that you are complaining about pro Canadian favoritism given the context that commercial interests have driven American teams to dominate Canadian teams to such a degree that they’ve won every Stanley Cup since 93. Mind you I’m also an American but your comments are extremely ignorant. Put it a different way, you grow up in Canada and your entire country bleeds for hockey and continues to produce the majority of top caliber players and year after year you watch the cup get lifted by cities in a country where they don’t even cover hockey on their mainstream sport talk shows. On average, even US fans in attendance know virtually nothing about the sport beyond the current players on their team and return to paying hockey zero interest they moment their season ends.
