On our way back from Myrtle Beach, we happen to pass through Uwharrie National Forest in North Carolina. Of course, we had to swing through and knock out Dickey Bell Trail #91 which is a Jeep Badge of Honor Trail. We ended up entering the trail from the wrong end so we ended with descending down the "hard part of the trail." Oh, and we did all of this during a torrential downpour which just added to the challenge of the trail. Check it out and let me know what your thoughts are on the trail.

Thanks for sharing. My wife and I are headed there Mid April 2024

Nice! Yeah, we stopped in on a whim after spring break at Myrtle Beach. Didn’t take to long to do if you’re doing just that trail. Lots of other trails in the area worth checking out!

Great video. You did take the easy bypass down little danniel. It's much harder going up the real trail when wet.

After seeing it in person I can definitely agree to that. We were by ourselves and had to drive back to Michigan directly after completing this trail. Didn’t want to take any chances with breaking something.

Yeah first time I have seen someone doing it downhill. Which most weekends you would have had to turn around with some many coming up.

That was very unintentional lol! But we made it work

Nice job! TY for posting. I imagine the difficulties in filming constantly getting out for shots and walking in that sticky red mud clay. SC boy here from Charleston. I'm planning to get up there to Uwharrie this summer. Your video just inspired me more. I'm still at stock on the Gladiator for tires, lift, and suspension for a Rubicon. But they say its certified built to tackle the Rubi in CA, so hopefully good here. Thank you! Even better is you took your family and you're spending that time together. Your video just inspired me more to get up there this summer.

That’s why we do it my friend. I love doing it and if it inspires people to do the same then even better! Usually my wife will film for me but it was down-pouring rain so I had to elect for a lot of still tripod shots. Still works though. Your Rubicon should be fine out there. Just take it slow and don’t do anything to crazy.

I have done 4 Badge of Honor trails. 5 th one is next week. They edit a lot of these video. And show the difficult bits. Most are not hard. They are forest service roads for the most part. And the Forest Service does not get lifted and built trucks to drive them. And they can make it through. Gulches in SC? All the green and some of the blue can be done in 2 high. Without airing down. In a stock Gladiator Rubicon. Because I did it. Dicky Bell is technically closed. 4 trails at Uwharrie are "closed" Dutch John being one. I was there last week. You can get onto Dicky Bell through Dutch John tbough. They have equipment out there "fixing it". Yet middle of the week no one was working. And the signal sucks. So checking in is near impossible. And you cannot check in anyway as Badge of Honor shows it closed still.

@yesihavebedbugs2786 right on. I’m sitting at 30 badges right now. We just did trails 26, 51 and 16 again at Windrock. 26 was a breeze but 16 I would not recommend for a Gladiator or any stock rig. Body damage is to be expected and take your doors off if you ever decide to run it.

Couple of those clips.. you can hear the bottoming out. Gotta love the Diesel for the power... but hate it for the weight. Dunno if they pre-fixed it in your model, but there was a TSB about bottoming out for the Rubicon JT Diesels.
@TrailExpedition
@TrailExpedition Год назад
Yeah I do need to look into that. Not only is the diesel heavy, but the metal cloak skids, JCR rock sliders, apex winch, bigger tires, RCI rack, and obviously all my gear adds so much extra weight.

Awesome! I appreciate the support! I wish we could have spent more time in that trail system but it was storming pretty good and we still had a twelve hour drive home.

Watch out! There’s a pirate! I feel like you should have turned around and gone back up that hill. ;-)

Haha! I thought about it. Probably would have if I wasn’t wheeling alone and it wasn’t down-pouring rain.

Noticed you're running the KBD flares and some of the LEDs seem to have gone out. Considering those flares and wondering how KDB handled it for you or if you even bothered with it.

I hadn’t noticed them being out, ha! The turn signal still functions normal. However, once in a great while if it’s been raining a lot, I will get an error message stating that the turn signal is out and it will hyper flash inside the vehicle. But when looking at the actual turn signal it was functioning as normal. It only happens a few times a year so hasn’t been a big deal. I love the look, durability and price of the KBDs!

We did this trail on a whim while driving back from Myrtle Beach so I didn’t research it much. We started on the wrong end so ended up running it in reverse. It’s still challenging going down in the rain with a vehicle full of gear.

@@TrailExpedition I downloaded the app and created a profile. Unfortunately it appears Trai #91 is currently closed till July. That's a hot month for jeeps. Thanks for the great info. I may be going to Michigan in September tho.. are there any badge trails up there that you'd recommend? Preferably blue-ish. Thanks again
@TrailExpedition

@dealike5326 I definitely recommend Drummond Island as it’s the best wheeling in Michigan. Holly Oaks off-road park also has a badge to grab but it’s nothing special.

Have you noticed any rubbing with the stock rims and faulken tires? I am setting my gladiator up almost the same way this week, aev spacers, 37 at3 tires
@TrailExpedition

At complete full flex there is some very minor rubbing. Not enough that makes me wanna run spacers though.

@TrailExpedition

Yup! If you crank your wheel all the way you will feel some very minor rubbing. Just back off to 95% and you’re good to go. Only really turn my wheel that far when turning into tight parking spots.
