Walz is a progressive that can message really well. He’s relatable to the kind of people that make up the GOP base. He’s their worst nightmare, and I’m here for it.
And he can easily tap into younger voters because he worked around them for years and didn't get a black heart, but became a better person. He understands what this upcoming generation is dealing with and everything that they aren't even going to dream about, like a starter home, or not living paycheck to paycheck. He is open, seems genuine and caring, and is the only Democrat that has used the simple name calling tactics back to the bullies and the bullies don't know what to do, so they have to over-bully in defense of their pride and ego.
They’re trying to make Tim Walz out to be a supervillain and it’s hilarious. The man talked about Star Wars prequel books with his kid. In what world is that evil 😂
Had to look this up to which I find "the state also had some of the nation's largest increases of families with children and veterans experiencing homelessness between 2022-2023." Wow, the irony has no end.
It's a habitual, but terrible message. We were in Afghanistan for 19 years and Iraq for nearly that long. Almost no one thinks that was a good idea, like Piker is saying. They're trying to peg Walz as a coward, and a deserter. At best they make him sound like he was actually pretty cagey about it. He "escaped" making the worst mistake of his life in his 40s. It's a uniquely terrible position. Only military contractors and top brass like our Forever Wars. One should immediately ask, "Do you think we should have been in Iraq?" to anyone who has this line of attack. Even their own god-king said Iraq was a "big fat mistake" when he ran in 2016.
That and they try to act like you're not a real veteran if you haven't seen combat yet will disrespect anyone that's feeling the real effects of combat, both psychological and physical & even just death And God forbid you're homeless, a third of the homeless population is veterans yet the right hates them with a burning passion and spiked benches
@@kevinchristensen7510even iraq not withstanding, it is insane to try and find faults with a man who served 23 years. Their vp pick Vance was a one and doner, 4 years. Nobody questions his service (which they shouldn't) but have the gall to question the service of someone who served almost 6 times that amount. Once someone hits 20 years nobody who's served and are coming from an honsest POV ever questions the decision to retire. Its crazy to me.
Funny for them to say as Kamala becomes the candidate for 2024. If Trump wins he will be the oldest president and JD Vance could quite easily become president if Trump passes away.
My brother-in-law is currently a Captain in the Air Force, currently administering psychiatric help to soldiers. He does not give a damn about the "uproar" on Walz's military history. He just wants to have enough money to feed his kids.
@@arbitarious They mean that even an active service military member does not care about whether Walz has "Seen combat" or whatever rank he retired from. He cares about real things like feeding his family, and thus this is a very stupid line of attack for the republican party to pursue
As a vet. Walz literally did nothing wrong. He retired as a Command Sergeant Major (CSM) but he wasn’t in that rank for 3 years and you retire as the highest rank that you’ve held for 3 years so he got “demoted” but not really
@@dftp It was put in effect so people don't retire shortly after promoting just to claim the retirement pay bump of the higher pay grade. The 3 yr time-in-grade is also a requirement for the CSM rank. It's not that big of a deal, honestly.
Because it’s not about fair accurate reporting, it’s about how can we tear this down because our president’s running mate is a fucking ghoul that no one likes.
I dropped in on r/Minnesota to see how they were doing. The pinned post at the top of the page is the meme of Wolverine sadly looking at a picture of Walz. I don't think they're taking it well.
I know well that there are many extremely legitimate left critiques of him, but putting on our realpolitik hats for a second, he’s an inspired choice for the Democratic VP.
@@Materialist39leftists wouldn't be leftists if they weren't doing purity tests & letting everyone know they are too cool to ever vote blue. Winning elections isn't important.
I can’t believe people still live there. How many times do you have wake up to your living room filled with water and a tree on your vehicle before you move? Even if insurance would continue to pay for that damage…
I’ve lived here my entire life and the biggest reason why anybody still stays is because you literally cannot afford to move. Gotta financially trap the locals to keep ‘em.
@@jewdy8915 You may be too privileged to realize this, but beyond personal things like family/friend ties, most people can't afford to just move, sell their house if they have one, have their partner agree on the move/process, and/or have an easy time getting a job wherever they move (not to mention things like pets, disabled/elderly people if they live with any, and generally the whole process of physically moving all of your stuff that makes the process more time AND money consuming). Not to mention how expensive it can already be in Florida anyways. If people could "just move", most Red states would lose like 20% of their population lmao.
They believe personhood is determined by a magical undetectable interdimensional god juice that materializes the moment sperm touches egg. They believe the infinite reality-weaving source-of-all-goodness told them this through roughly translated ancient hebrew that was talking about something else. Most importantly, they believe that not believing whatever they currently believe, for any reason, will result in well-deserved eternal torture for them and their children. We are not living in the same reality as them.
their whole worldview is built on contradictions and cognitive dissonance. they'll make any argument, no matter how little sense it makes, just to attack the things they don't like.
If you didn’t hear about it, NPR fact checked a recent 64 minute press conference and found 162 lies and distortions. They pointed out it was like 2 per minute. 😂😂😂
That's the oppo research? "Muslim guy worked with Walz and called for peace and safety during difficult times in Minnesota. Also, he did some shit on the side that has nothing to do with Walz." Why should anyone give a crap?
The 2015 Facebook post as well… I interact with old Muslims guys like that all the time. The website he posted is despicable, no doubt, but from what I saw, I would put good money on that it was just some headline he saw in a WhatsApp group before posting it on his Facebook. Definitely wrong but still had absolutely nothing to do with dear old Tim lmfao
I love how conservatives are trying to find any bone to pick with walz, but he’s just so much of a stand up guy that the only thing they’ve got to work with is his political views.
I honestly think that Tim Walz would have less on an effect on Kamala's campaign if republicans would just stop talking about him, they keep making him look good and keep bringing attention to how awesome he is.
Republicans absolutely would not have fed children or protected trans people or abortion rights. His character is everything they advertise but never actualize. School teacher, coach, and veteran, no big money interests. No stocks. No real estate. I love it.
It's reminiscent of John Kerry's 2004 run. Man actually saw combat on the ground in Vietnam, was decorated for it, but the Right reviled him for protesting the war when he came home and started saying the war was immoral. The Bush and Fox propaganda machine began finding plants who said Kerry had lied about his service and the conditions he got his medals, even though records verified everything Kerry said. But they did it because a draft-dodger like Bush Jr. didn't stand a chance in the eyes of moderates against a veteran who was opposing the Iraq War. A shame that Kerry turned into another neoliberal warmonger though.
Criticizing a governor for fraud conducted by big business, allowed by FEDERAL LAW that was enacted without sufficient scrutiny and safeguards, is total horseshit.
As a lifelong Minneapolitan- I approve this message. If Desantis wanna come to Minneapolis and get lit tf up from not Lake Minnetonka ( 🐠😂 ), let him. What a joke. 612 gang 💯🫡
I live in a Midwest, heavily right leaving state and there are homeless ppl pooping all over the sidewalks here too….it’s almost like maybe the whole country is ran like shit
God I hope they tax the hell out of capital gains. My first job paid out partially in stock and it was insane how little the taxes were. Really opened my eyes to how there’s two sets of laws in this country depending on what you’re paid in.
Since the capital gains discount was introduced here in Australia in 1996 along with negative gearing - house prices are now 13x the average wage when it used to be 3x. It’s insane how much laws and policy across the western world only benefit the rich.
As someone who lives in a house that is basically always playing fox, I can confirm that they’re losing their minds talking about tampons, an actual veteran status (not a pr guy), and a socialist - basically everything they hate
As a vet, most don't care about the retirement rank. Our first sergeant didn't meet the schooling requirements to be a first sergeant, just a master sergeant (same rank, different title just like Walz), but you would be low crawling across a field if you ever tried to be smart and call him a master sergeant, even while he was wearing his master sergeant rank.
Listening to De Santis clearly he has never heard of the literal cultural saying of “Florida man” he is not the person who can say shit about San Francisco.
I'm a veteran, can't even tell what their trying to get mad at Walz for. Guarantee you that we don't care, the only people that do aren't even in the military or are a boot 😂
Walz has gotten so much done for Minnesota. Extended PTO, legalizing weed, lowered the cost of prescription drugs, reduced college tuition for low income students etc. Honestly wish he was the nominee the guy is unstoppable
I had music playing in another tab and I didn't close it. It started autoplaying duel of the fates just as I started this video, it unironically fit so well with his rant in the beginning LMAO. Classic good vs. evil story here too. Just pure manipulative lunatics attacking someone that's whole aura is "what if people actually cared about each other?"
Part of the right wingers fairy tale "reality" is the fact that mainstream media = liberal Jewish media and fox news = real fact based media That's why none of them know fox paid 787m$ in a settlement for lying about the election - gotta pretend this stuff is real and everything else is fake
The stolen valor thing is so ridiculous like wasnt he in the armed forces for like 20 years, which is more than most vets, including vance who was only there for like 2 years. The idea that he has stolen valor is ridiculous
Fun fact, for those of you who aren’t in or have served in the military it Most military members usually start out processing from their respected branch about a year out. I say this because I find it funny that people keep saying that Tim Walz avoided deploying by getting out when he was probably halfway, if not almost fully separated from the military.
Attacking Walz for his military record is not going well. Just heard an enlisted man saying vets and active duties LOVE master sergeants. Tons of guys retire and don't get to keep their rank for exactly this reason. He said a LOT of younger army guys are turning on the GOP over this line of attack. You love to see it
seriously. after 4 years i can see walz going for president if they do amazing in office even tho he says he doesnt want it im sure many if walz and harris do a good job will be an outcry for walz to be president
7:30 even if he knows you know it was going to be deployed, he was eligible for retirement, and they had stopped loss back then, they would just tell you f*** no you have to stay
The reason why his DD214 doesn't list his discharge rank as "command sergeant major" is because CSM is a job position and not a rank. Tim Walz was discharged as a sergeant major (E9) which is the exact same thing as a CSM except one is the highest enlisted member in their unit and one isn't.
I love how they have so little on Walz, that the best they can do is attack him for existing while bad things happened (and was punished) during COVID.
It's so annoying how the people who always want to insist the city was "burned down" are people who have never set foot in MN at all, let alone Minneapolis. Like man, people (rightfully) threw shite at one police station and one street had some damage, much of which was found to be caused by right-wing inciters anyway. We're fine. Minneapolis is fine. Minnesota is thriving. They just like having something they can attempt to use as ammo despite knowing nothing about it.
I know it's probably because I have my brain broken towards the left but I honestly can't understand how people can look at Ron DeSantis in the US and think to themselves "Yeah, this hateful void of charisma, this unfuckable waste of space, is someone I can get behind. I should vote for him".
Her emphasis on "what those people VOLUNTARILY signed up to do in Iraq" is wild, because we've seen on video what those people did in Iraq, and anyone who signed up specifically to do what they did should be behind bars, if the US actually gave a fuck about international law.
