This video shows how to adjust the hook timing on a Consew 225 industrial sewing machine. The timing procedure also applies to other machines in the same class, like Singer 111W155, Juki 562, etc.
Uwe, you are my hero. You are obviously very knowledgeable, but your video and teaching are top notch. Thank you very much for your time and effort to share with us.
Your video is the best instructional video I have ever seen for any machine, period. You should offer this as a service to all companies who really want their customers to learn and enjoy their machines.
I was in awe of the quality, clarity and editing of your video. I could not imagine a way it could have been better. I really appreciate the effort into this which will be very helpful to me.
This is an excellent informative video which I have used to reset timing on our Seiko LWB binding machines.....I am based in south Island of New Zealand and we don't have any sewing machine mechanics in our area so we do all work in house ..Thanks Uwe 👊👍
Hello from Australia my name is Steve. I am the proud owner of a singer 211a566aa. It has been serving me well until recently when my hook timing fell out from heavy use and a loose screw on the hook timing gear. after watching your video I was able to put my machine back into correct timing and now it sews like a dream as it did when I first purchased the machine. This machine has had very little use over the past 20 years by the previous owner. It now is being used every day and keeps up with its reputation of being a tough machine for medium to heavy work thank you very much for your video as the consew machine is quite similar and it was easy for me to follow your very clear steps. Thank you very much from Steve cheers and have a great day.
Hi Uwe, thanks you for your videos. I have a Consew 226 walking foot machine and I'm definitely a beginner. I restore old cars so mainly working with vynal and leather. I bought my machine second hand supposedly fully serviced and just about everything was wrong including the drive belt not aligned to the timing marks. So I set everything up to your instructions and the machine is working much better. Us beginners could do with a video on needle and thread selection for different materials if that is part of your expertise in the area. But thank you for helping work through the problems I was having. Cheers, Larry
Wow,brilliant What you show is very clear and precise footage` its the best iv ever seen on you tube by far, and I have watched at least 1500 video in the past year, everything to do with sewing machines, I really appreciate the detail of these video`s , especially the different split screen positions on the workings of a particular piece in one seen on the screen.that divides you from the rest out there, very clever. Its very clear and illustrate showing exactly whats going on, Never have I seen some one else go to this much effort to explain by film without speech, Demonstrating great information on the correct distance needle to shuttle and other etc, Please continue making video`s I can`t imagine the time its taken to produce these, but believe me its been worth the effort, You educate thousands of people that will really appreciate your efforts putting these out there, Any one that watch your films will have the confidence to adjust what is appropriate to get the settings correctly no problem, Music ain`t bad either very relaxing, Thank you
Although I have a Consew 227R with some differences from the 225 I found your video very easy to understand and your videography is awesome! You saved me hundreds of dollars in getting my machine timed at least once a year. Thank you!
Uwe...absolutely the best professional video for resetting the timing on this type rotary hook...I have made videos on re-timing Singer Class 95 and 96 rotary hook machines, but I needed the help of your video to re-time a Consew 226-R. The best help tip for me was that the needle had to start to rise again from its lowest point 3/32" just as the hook came into the hook 1/16" above the needle's eye. I was able to eyeball all of that after loosening the "big gear" screws and manually moving the hook point to the correct spot. After that, the machine was sewing perfectly again! Thanks again!!!
Sorry to be off topic but does any of you know of a method to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly lost my login password. I would love any help you can offer me
@Joziah Bo I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Thank you I have been having a problem with my Seiko and I could not have asked for better infomation than this. I will be sorting it out on the weekend and I know it will now work the way it should extremly informative video.
THANKS! I have looked at soo many videos that just say nothing!, 'and you can not type in what you want on RU-vid any longer and find a specific topic . Thank you again.
Uwe, thank you for your videos. I purchased a Consew 226 two weeks ago and have been working my way through all of the adjustments and mechanisms. Found the hook assembly was not the correct one, got the replacement today, this video was exactly what I needed. Very fiddly adjustment but well worth the effort. Thank you, again!
great photography and video, explained perfectly.. I had my singer in a highly recommended shop in Fresno multiple times and it always broke or wadded up thread. shop said I was doing something wrong , after carefully readjusting the the timing it now sews perfectly, thanks for the video
I have a commercial machine (Chandler) given to my by a friend who stated that he could not get it working. I struggled with it as well, but now have the right info to tackle this setting thanks to this video. Great job.
Thank you for sharing this valuable information! I stumbled across something yesterday which may help someone. The bobbin cover plate is exactly 3/32" thick.
This was an awesome video! The best instructional I have ever seen. This was a tricky little problem to repair and it was presented clearly and with calming music. Thank you so much.
What a wonderful video... I have a Pfaff 1245 so I guess that it is not applicable to my machine, but it is very interesting to see such professional advice and impeccable filming and editing. Thank you very much!
Thank you so much for the video. I had to replace my hook assembly and for some reason the timing was way off, last guy had it set very different than you showed. I followed your video and now my old juki is running perfect, better than before even. People like you make me keep utube as a super valuable resource. Hats off to you sir!
What a fantastic tutorial, demystifying the hook timing adjustment and showing slow time how the mechanism works so beautifully together ! Thank you so much and I echo all those comments below ...
You did an absolutely amazing job with clarity and explanation! Huge help for timing my Singer 211G 165! The manual from 1954 was decent but I still had questions.
i am now strangely hoping that one of our three consews has something maladjusted just so i can practice what i seen/learned here and make the machine run better. great video and thanks for helping me understand how what i been working with for 30 years operates
OMG this is the very best video i've seen out there..thank you soooooo much... i'm always tryin to work on my machines myself...and just recently i was having issues with the bobbin area after watching this and another you have on getting thread from underneath the bobbin i'm set to take care of the problem...i have a singer 111w154.. God Bless
That was one of my daily work for 26 years in a shoe factory ...just memories...normally our machines were Pfaff and Adlers. Very robust machines until they'll find a wrecker
Thank you for producing this great video. I need to replace the hook in my Singer 111w155. Your video and the sub video with Eric's recommendations will make this easy. I will play this when replacing the hook as the music is so soothing. Thank you again.
This is awesome. I bought a Amish abused 111w155 6 months ago and started taking it apart as it was supposed to have issues after busting a needle. Despite having been used and abused by the Amish I don't see bad wear. I will be watching all your videos that pertain to put this back together once I get the missing parts located. Your videos are immensely helpful. Thank you
Best video I ever seen . Thanks for educate me on how to work on my 225 Consew . . One thing I wish I can do with my 225 Consew is to slow it down , is to fast for me . . Thanks again .
+Harry Silva To slow down your machine you can either change existing pulleys to change the speed a little, or install a servo motor and/or a speed reducer pulley to change the speed a lot.
Wow on the incredible production quality. I would love to have a voice narration rather than subtitles. Thats just me I learn better listening and watching. You are a great artist in repair and video production. Art in motion. All the best neal sw fla
This is an exceptionally well done video. Sharp and clear images, excellent instructions. If only more of RU-vid was this well done! One question: To my eye the hook is sweeping past the scarf very close to the bottom of the scarf. Other machines spec this nearer the center or even top of the scarf. Is there any explanation on why the Consew is calibrated this way?
WOW...very interesting flick...takes a lot of the guess work out... awesome...now i have a good idea of how to tune my machine...love the piano music too...very soothing ...lol thanks...BB
This is exactly what I was looking for, but I must admit that I got a little lost from minute 8:00, (I didn't understand why he removed the ring from the needle bar).Anyway thank you very much for the excellent video and the very good images
