Glad I stumbled onto this video. I had installed a Gunvault Microvault in my Tundra but it quit working less than 6 months (No explanation from gunvault other than cold weather). Wasn't even aware Toyota offered this option. I just finished installing my Toyota Console safe and it went in as easy as you showed and I'm really happy with it for $270. Wish I would have know about it before wasting $100 on the Microvault
I wonder how this item compares to the one done at "Lock'er Down" out of San Antonio? I'm thinking of ordering it due to having electronic lock and 10-gauge lid (and a magnet [$20] for handgun in lieu of holster arrangement). Their door is spring loaded and safe comes in full size or half-size for $339-$349. The electronic combo feature (not mandatory) is an extra $150 but allows you to open safe on the move without going for a key, simply by turning lever on unlocked safe.
David. Westergard Where I love you can have a loaded weapon in your vehicle even without a carry permit. I do have a CCW so all the states that reciprocate my permit I’m total legal in. Which I usual don’t go to states that don’t!
So what type of holster and how did you attach it to the safe. I have the full size safe and I attached my holster on a wood plate and glued it to the side of the safe with gorilla glue. So far no issues it’s held up over a year but like your set up as well?
Thank you for the reply. Also (in your opinion) is the safe deep enough for a full size glock frame for a glock 22 (20) with holster and ram mount? Was ram mount and holster installation as easy as the safe install?
GREYMAN MEDIA It was very easy to install I have several videos on the installation of it. I think 3 in all. As far as a full size Glock, my 19 sits perfectly in a draw stroke position. A full size would have to be angled back more in my opinion. Not saying it wouldn’t work but maybe not at the same angle as mine. I do believe I have some more room that I could have lowered the holster. I am at the beach on vacation right now or I would go check for you, but I do believe there is room to move the holster down.
Another great video with some good info. Gonna look into this...hoping they make it for a Ford Explorer. Is there any rattle or creaks or any sounds while driving? I'm one of those that dont like to hear anything rattle while driving. Lol. Again good video 🤙💯✔💪
Just came across this. I am going to have to do this model as well. Question I have is could you mount it to the bottom of the safe instead of the front side. Is there enough clearance on bottom for the screw heads?
A Newcomer Thank you, and I just checked and I didn’t see any for revolvers. I would contact them and see if they can make you one. I don’t know if they can but worth a shot.
Love your videos brother. I AM IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC , I OWN A 2011 TUNDRA. LOOKING FOWARD TO DO TJE SAME MODS TO MY TRUCK. DARA HOLTERS MAKE ONE FOR MY CZ 75 ?
It's not fitting mine. I have a 2019 tundra limited TRD. The console has a lip inside, front and rear, for the big tray to slide side to side on. It is rivited so it looks like i must drill it out! 😣😣😣😣😣😣😣😣😣
GREYMAN MEDIA The mount and holster is from a company called Dara. It’s their RAM holster. It works perfectly. Here is the link to it. www.daraholsters.com/light-bearing-ram-mounted-vehicle-holster/
Gear Runner im interested in the same safe. I was looking at the lockerdown safe but i like having the space on the side for papers etc. Im going to look at the lockerdown safe lid. It has the springs in it.
