Console Wars - Wolfchild - Super Nintendo vs Sega Genesis 

One of the coolest parts of this show is you sometimes spotlighting lesser covered games that are not duds, like True Lies, Wolfchild and so on.

The way Dan gets serious delivering the line: "That's how you Colombo." , was pretty funny.

"No Rain on Sega" that Blind Melon joke was superb!

Sega CD is the real winner.

The Genesis music really did kick butt. First time I've heard it and I was surprised. My only complaint is I was hoping to see more about the Sega CD version.

I'd love to see you guys do a crossover with the AVGN!

So with those clues I'm guessing the next episode will be Hook. I do hope you at least mention the Sega CD version as the music in that one is just phenomenal.

While missing the Speedo-Man upgrade, Wolfchild always struck me as a good version of Altered Beast.

Great job with this Halloween episode! But the best 16-bit version is still the Sega CD version, with full soundtrack work and m,ost of all, GREAT cut scenes in the begining.

Music on both are excellent. I love both soundtracks. Overall I think, as long as you like the game, both are worth owning.

Dan: Everything you hit in The Super Nintendo game makes a bird noise. People, lizards, bugs, fish, birds........wait that one make sense. Even hitting a lazer makes a bird noise.........wow.

Amiga ports are always an interesting one. The Mega Drive uses the same 68000 CPU as the Amiga so you should in theory always get a more-or-less exact port fairly easily. The SNES version usually needs to be heavily reworked for a different CPU so you always get one of two things; either a very lazy, borked port or a really good one that really takes advantage of the hardware. With Amiga games, you always know that if the SNES version turns out best that means the studio making it really put some love and care into what they were doing.

Oh man! You mean you're FINALLY going to take on that 90's game classic "Gator Clock Boat?" Damn. Now THAT'S a deep dive. I LOVED that one when I was a kid, even though it took me years to get to that final boat level where you fight the alarm clock. Of course, I only ever had the stripped down Game Boy version. I hear the 16 bit ones are at least a little easier to control.

I generally like the channel better when it's doing the good work of breaking down the myth that the SNES was distinctly superior, and less when it's reinforcing the US-centric view that it is just better.

OMG! You actually followed my suggestion! After seeing Halloween Episodes about zombies, vampires and Frankenstein's Monster, I figured that "Wolfchild" would be a good game for an Episode about werewolves! I was a little worried that you wouldn't be able to do it for Halloween 2023 because of the break you took after the "Flashback" episode, because of the new baby. Thank you such much for getting it done for Halloween 2023! Anyway, the plot and sketches at the start and the end were alright. What I really loved was the coverage of the game itself. Loved what I saw and really felt satisfied by all the info you were giving! It also felt like a real competition to me. Like, not one-sided. Really got me wondering whether the SNES or Sega Genesis version would win! Y'know, seeing as both you and the AVGN have accumulated a lot of Halloween Episodes for your shows, I'd love to see the AVGN, preferably as his real self, James Rolfe, comment on your Halloween Episodes. I think he'd love 'em, or at least like 'em! Congrats on making another Halloween Episode! Bye!
