For me it’s definitely cheaper to ship everything together, especially if you have many small things. Based on what I tried so far, consolidating all my packages was cheaper than shipping separately. However if I have only 2 - 3 items, the consolidated shipping cost was almost the same or more than the separate shipping cost. But to be honest, I currently use Tenso or Zenmarket to buy stuff from Japan. I find their rates better. I only use Buyee for the discount coupons and access to Mercari now.

When I consolidated my package, I could still use Paypal. So I didn't encounter that issue. :x

Yes you can still use airmail, but depends on the size of the overal package. If the parcel becomes too big after consolidation, you may need to opt for other shipping methods. Perhaps can ask Buyee to check the size before consolidation.

I don't think you can consolidate from different buyers, since you can only consolidate the items bought within the same account. But you can consolidate items you bought from different sellers using the same account; e.g. I can buy from Mercari and Yahoo Auctions (different sellers) & if the items arrives at Buyee's warehouse within the holding period of Buyee, you can consolidate them together. Hihi! Good question! Unfortunately, I didn't check the shipping price if I shipped this video's items individually. Should have done that before consolidating. It's ABIT cheaper if I didn't consolidate the package. fairybro.com/perks-not-so-perks-of-using-buyee/ But I made a few other orders on Buyee and from my price comparisons, it can also be cheaper if I consolidate 2 items, especially if I can keep the consolidated package as a Registered Small Package (AIR). The 2 items will share the shipping and consolidation fee. Only 2 items because the consolidated fee is 500 yen only. If you consolidate 3 and more items, it is 1000 yen. If you plan to consolidate more, best to have a lot more items to make the consolidation fee worth it. That's what I would think if I have bought a lot of things from Buyee in a month. Note that the free number of storage days is 30 days. Beyond that there is an additional fee. So keep a track of the days on the stored items page if you plan to store items to mass consolidate them! As someone who just ordered 3 separate items as 1 package. Shipping them to me without consolidation would've costed around $125. With consolidation it costed me $70.

From request for consolidation to shipping, Buyee took 3 days previously. :)

It took 1 day for them to consolidate my package. That’s on a weekday.

Usually yes, the savings is from the reduced number of shipping fee, especially if you have many small items to ship out & all combined can keep within the size of the small packet airmail shipping method. Even if the parcel becomes big from consolidation, surface is also an option for cheaper shipping method.
