What do the symbols on the shields mean? They didn't discuss this. Are these organizations steeped in free masonic traditions? I thought the Bible warned us to avoid idolatry and pagan symbols in any form! Give us the facts, please!

I am a former member of a sorority, Zeta Phi Beta that pledged in UnderGrad. When I came to the Lord Jesus Christ, I immediately denounced. This video is very misleading and sad. I created a video, explaining why I denounced to help encourage others. This is spiritual warfare where the enemy wants to keep the scales on the eyes of people who need to come out. Please y’all, earnestly get before God and pray for Him to reveal to you what’s really going on. He is a God that cannot lie and will lead you to Truth!

Now I understand why the minister does not understand. He stated, “It’s about where your heart is”. Well actually it isn’t. The word says our hearts are deceitful (Jeremiah 17:9). The whole book of Jeremiah talks about idolatry & prophets giving false words from God, as this minister is doing. Then the pastor talked about service. When I denounced God clearly reminded me that I NEVER did one act of service in his name. He told me when I put on my AKA shirt, people saw AKA not Jesus. Proverbs tells us not to brag about what we do but you find this minister & the others are doing just that. Furthermore, the minister says, “There might have been some hurt there” for people who denounced/ renounced. That was slick shade and untrue for many… Just because you have a title doesn’t mean you are a real Christian. A true follower of Yeshua will yield to God’s word regarding covenants, bowing, hazing and so much more. I see why Matthew 15:8 says people honor me with their lips but their hearts are far from me. If you loved Jesus like you say you do, you would take your emotions out of it and compare the rituals & what you said to the word. This is dangerous for every idolator but EXTREMELY dangerous for the minister. God is not pleased because people look to ministers for the word instead of reading it themselves. Lord, help our people and I say that in love. ❤

This is terribly misleading and therefore sad. They obviously do not know about their organization’s written ceremonies/rituals. For the true follower of Christ, a genuine prayer followed by a page by page review of the rit would begin to uncover the conflict.

Just curious. If the church work you are doing goes hand in hand with what you do as an organization what is the need for a Christian to be in sororities?

Let me ask another question: if the official fraternity hymn says “we will serve the organization forever”, how as college educated people, can we misinterpret that to mean anything, except for you serve the organization in eternal perpetuity? Not to mention the “Christian - based“ part is a derivative of Bible verses. On the surface, and to the undiscerning, you can think that that’s “normal.” the problem is the original context that the organizations are pulling these rituals from were reserved for God. They transformed scripture to replace God as the providential focus. I guess I feel like Jesus when he went to his hometown to preach; I am amazed at your unbelief. The Greek gods (Exodus 20:3), bowing to idols (Leviticus 26: 1), secrecy of things done in the dark (Ephesians 5:11-14), prideful attitude over others (1 John 2:16-17) is certainly something to be very concerned about as a Christian. However, overall the issue that should be very concerning to a Christian in these organizations is the twisting of God’s word (Revelation 22:18-19). For example, AKA tells its members to pledge their hearts, minds, and strength to the organization. But God says, as his Greatest Command to Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. (Mark 12:30) (Revelation 22:13). We have a duty as CHRISTIANS to feast on God's word DAILY and LIVE by it so that we can Put on the Full Armor of God and stand against these things (Ephesians 6:10-18). Christians are called to be Christ-like (Like Christ) (Colossians 3). As a Christian we must ask the question. Would Jesus be a member of the Divine 9?

Personally I can appreciate what I do see. I enjoyed campus life. Years later I enjoy watching different campuses greek life, on RU-vid. Although I'm not a member but some of my family and friends are. My thing is why just the D9? Why not every frat and soro, that takes an oath and has rituals you disagree with? Some people in greek life argue that they do it for community service/sisterhood etc, but as Christians, why can’t we serve our community in the name of Jesus and not in the name of sororities. Some of the members I have known to denounce, they lived and breathed the org in an unhealthy way OR had a very negative experience (I'm not going to act like it doesn't happen). If you don't have a good relationship with yourself and/or with God (or whatever religion/deity), you are going to struggle with your faith. It's about balance. I second about the Classical education and the Christian values. The main issue is how public these denouncings are. I get you want to "educate" but the age of social media has created this idea that everything needs to be public and it doesn't. If you feel your relationship with God is hurting due to your commitment in an org, then step away. We are not worshiping or idolizing anything, and if you find yourself doing, check yourself.
