Wasn’t mentioned but I think it’s also important to talk about how GOOD this movie looks. The dirty grimy streets, the colourful private demon club, that incredible shot where the twin falls through the glass skylight into the pool. Worth watching for that stuff alone.

Peter Stormare has easily one of the best portrayals of Satan ever put to film. Even though its only for like 7 min.

I loved the concept in this movie that Constantine can't save himself just by hunting demons because he knows heaven and hell are real. Because he definitively knows, he doesn't have actual faith.

Despite the lack of trenchcoat, blond hair, and accent, Keanu really does capture the vibe of Constantine very well.

Nick's knowledge of watches, suits and other fancy gentleman stuff becomes hillarious if you imagine he's a magical pixie/gnome creature living on a mushroom in James's backyard

they nailed the atmosphere in constantine. the feel of heavy and dark in every scene without making it actually dark to make it horrific. it made it feel that the world has demons lurking everywhere.

ngl, this is unironically my favorite movie. i'm not gonna argue that it's the best movie, but it hits everything i love. i've seen it a thousand times

I have fond memories of Constantine. It came out when my husband and I first started dating and it was one of our favorite movies. I never realized it was considered a "bad" film, but didn't know it was a comic book either. Just thought it was an edgy film with young/bigger nostrils Shia Labeouf.

The first time I saw this I didn't know it was a DC property, the movie's first half-hour really pulls you in. Really enjoyed Constantine. I hope he gets an appearance during black adam

Haven't watched Constantine since seeing it in theaters but I do remember enjoying it without knowing a thing about the character at the time. Something I noticed in the clips here was the movie has a fantastic look and cool, creative monsters

I love the short lived Constantine series. Matt Ryan IS Constantine but it would be cool to see a sequel to this movie and bring Matt Ryan in as an alternate dimension Constantine and is like a buddy cop movie but with exercising demons.

This is my favourite comic book movie. Whereas every Marvel movie ends with them fighting a big CGI object in the sky, this ends with two old men having a conversation in a shower room and that scene is absolutely thrilling.

Keanu as Constantine is like Tom cruise as jack reacher. Both great actors and did a good job, they don't look like their characters, and their TV show counterparts knock it out of the park.

Watched this for the first time recently and it was okay but I loved how much Peter Stormare steals the show at the very end, he's so good at being a creepy gooey terrifying Satan.

When this video was teased last week as a bottom of the barrel movie I was like “what? I loved Constantine! Don’t tell me it actually sucked”. So glad to see that you guys love it too

I love this movie. It's such a well-crafted film with near perfect pacing all the way through. Great details in so many scenes. The sound design is so great.

This is one of the few times since the Transformers Movies that I watched the movie right before you guys said you were doing it for the show. I watched it on a recommendation from my family, who really appreciated it for what it was in 2005

i absolutly love the animated version of Constantine and him in the comics, the guy that voices him in the animated movies also does the live action version in the cw shows and he is the perfect Constantine

16:56 Shia's character is alive. there's a scene at the end of the credits where he's an angel. John visits Chaz's grave, but when John turns around, Chaz appears. He's crouching, looks up, his wings unfurl, and he flies straight up into the sky out of frame and the movie ends for real after John smirks

In the DVD commentary it is said the devil's feet are covered in tar because his feet have to stain the earth before he can walk on it. Loved this movie but the director's commentary just took it to the next level for me.

Keanu Reeves does his best wet suit and wet hair acting in this movie for sure.

As a very long time Hellblazer fan, Keanu Reeves and the movie actually capture the mood and style of the comics relly well. It's such an enjoyable watch that understands and executes the main concepts of the series perfectly

Love the fact that Constantine isn't a superhero in this movie despite the world-ending stakes. He's strictly equipped as an occultist, exorcist, & as the video mentioned, a sort of exterminator. He relies mostly on his wits. Not a wizard like his comic book counterpart. Just a man fighting for his soul.

My babymother and I watched this at the cinema, it was the last time we went together and she was just a couple of weeks away from the date of the birth of our first child. In the final sequence of the film where it's all going on, she said she felt sick because our daughter must have been startled/excited at the loud booms and what have you from the speakers. She placed my hand on her belly and indeed I could feel our daughter squirming about, it felt gross, if I had been lucky enough to have been carrying our daughter I would have wanted to leave the cinema immediately, but my partner (at the time) is made of sterner stuff than I. ....Our daughter is turning seventeen this year, is in college, dresses like a victorian lady in mourning, makes me howl with laughter, swears like a docker with a sore arse and is, all maternal fondness and love aside, a pretty intelligent and thoughtful young lady, loyal to her friends and a treasure to her family. It's a pity her other mom is an absolute cow, but you can't have everything can you?

I thought Tilda Swinton was the shit in this movie, she was so haughty and calm, the perfect image of an angel that thinks they're better than you because they actually are

This is honestly one of my favorite movies. One of the few movies I watched multiple times. I love Constantine's character doesn't necessarily win by overpowering but by outwitting God AND The Devil

When I watched this movie long ago I knew nothing about constantine and thought it was a good movie. I absolutely love the world design and how they treat the angel and demon things in this. It also made me scared of god/demon stuff and darkness and "fly". I am an asian so I have no knowledge about christian stuff and it made me feel so interesting in those story (I still have not known any further). Now I know a little about constantine and still think this is a good movie. Kind of sad that there is no sequel to this

The spear of destiny props in Constantine and hellboy aren’t the same prop, sure they’re similar but not identical. And it’s important to note that the spear is a real life relic that has been photographed and drawn extensively so it’s no coincidence that two prop designers would create similar pieces.

As a diehard Hellblazer reader from 98 I loved this take of the character. Give him a different name and he'd fit right in the universe next to the best of the cast.

when I was a tween I was obsessed with this movie , would watch it several times a week, or at least once a week, it was my comfort movie I guess, even thou it's pretty dark, lol. I've grown out of love with a lot of stuff I loved as a kid but I would still gladly watch this one over and over again, just a good time, with a really good looking main cast and interesting world :")

I've never seen this movie, but I loved Constantine's tv appearances, first as a solo show, then later as part of the Arrowverse. I don't know that actor's name off the top of my head, but to me he is the definitive version of the character.

Blade & Constantine blew me away before I even knew they were comic book movies. I really hope we get a new Constantine.

I kinda feel like, with the exception of it being rather different in many ways from source material, it mostly just suffers from the “Nickelback Effect”: where it has a fair enough amount of flaws to make people give it more hate than it really deserves, then it gets popular to hate it, and eventually the hate for said thing becomes its own living breathing organism and either as popular as if not more popular than the thing people are hating. This movie was always one of my guilty pleasures growing up. Still is. Except anymore, honestly, I feel like it’s not half as bad as people made it out to be when I was younger. I watch it now and it still holds up exceptionally well. It’s so cool and built in its own world, and done so uniquely while feeling like Constantine, just an alternate Americanized version. With black hair. I dunno. I really loved it, still do, and it’s honestly one of my favorite Keanu roles, period.

After seeing you guys tackle twilight I would love to see you guys do this for Harry Potter. Even though you do that on the podcast every few years I'd still love to see it.

Yeah, I really like this movie. (Even if it’s an… *odd* adaptation.) It’s atmospheric, creepy, gritty, slick, and weird. And, overall, it’s a TON of fun. I’d even love to see a belated sequel, especially since WB has already given-up and is just multiversing the hell outta their DC movies…

The scene where Gabriel gets socked in the face at the was played sooo well it has me cackling everytime

It's interesting seeing the Spear of Destiny in this, then seeing it pop up as the macguffin of season 2 of Legends of Tomorrow before Constantine ends up joining the team the next season (and cameos in S2)

I loved this movie as a kid and looking back I think I like it more. It looks so different compared to other comic movies or even supernatural movies and the character is. I can get why comic fans were put off, but this is what got me into Hellblazer and Justice League Dark.

Idc what no one said this is still my favorite Constantine adaptation, growing up this movie was so believable and gorgeous the cgi still holds up better than most garbage coming out now

I LOVE the jobber/exterminator aspect that just has pockets full of demon fighting relics. Reminded me of the best part of John Carpenters ‘Vampires’: the opening nest raid, just guys doing a job they’ve done a few dozen times before.

Constantine was an outstanding movie. It worked far better than almost any DC movie ever made.

I love the character Constantine SO MUCH. I was disappointed to see how he wasn’t British anymore and thought they really did Chad dirty but overall it was great! Underrated!

The game had this AWESOME puzzle mechanice where you would be unable to move forward, so you'd find a puddle or some other source of water, use it to send yourself to Hell where there was a more than likely dangerous way around whatever the obstacle is, then pop back into the world of the living past the obstacle. It was really quite brilliant and a lot of fun.

Loved this film when it came out, always felt it's maintained a certain style and uniqueness even after all these other comic book properties. Reeves was essentially perfect casting outside of appearance/accent. Having said that, I would have loved to see a John Cusack version, him channeling his 1408 performance perhaps as a tired cynic. The same disdain for the paranormal and holy, only unable to deny it.

This was a great film, one of the best interpretations of Satan in cinema, and as blasphemous as this sounds, I prefer this interpretation of Constantine substantially more then that if the source material. Also notable mentions go to midnite, Gabriel and Balthasar, just super compelling characters and fantastic performances

Just watched this on Netflix, saw the bad guy from the very start of John wick 2 towards the end. Wasn't too shabby at all, always good to see the mummy Mrs O'Connell herself get into some shenanigans

The Leftovers is such a quintessential Lindelof show. Interesting premise, characters, acting, production value and monologues with a conclusion (hell most of the third season even) that makes it feel like everything was a gigantic waste of time.

One of those films that 'clicks'... Love it. Incredibly well made and shot. Great soundtrack by APC too.

I've always enjoyed this movie. The effects are really good for the time and are still fine. Peter Stomare is great. I really think I would enjoy seeing a second one as well with at least the both of them. I like Keanu in these roles, he would be a fine Ghostrider for me, a good mix between Constantine and John Wick.
