@@thomasbisschoff7136you keep saying this. Ramaphosa had 283 votes and Malema had 44. The DA has 87 seats. And a statement of intent doesn’t constitute a contract.
@@Molfie123 don't be too sure that a motion of no confidence in Ramaphosa may not succeed. Let's do the maths: MK+EFF+DA and a few ANC members (remember it is a secret ballot) and a few smaller parties and Ramaphosa is gone, a normal MP again.
MK wannt Cyril out specifically. DA and EEF would have been burnt thru bad deals with ANC GNU lead by Cyril the vote of no confidence is very real. Also Cyril is yet to purge ANC of Zuma loyalist.
Yes, The President has to power to appoint whomever he wants and the Parlament also has the power to impeach him, remove him , reject his budget proposal and let the givern6of the day fall!!! The President is not naive!!!
@rastaweed1268 Both MK and EFF, specially MK will not protect Ramaphosa and if the comes out DA of this GNU that's already 45% of seats, remaining just 5.1% ... the same goes for government budgets throughout the 5 years term, if it gets that far!
@@MJG1017 oh no you forget what they all have in common, it's called give us and we will protect you. So we might even have DA members removed by votes
It's not difficult. The electorate gave this government a clear mandate. Representation in cabinet should be proportional to the vote. Anything else would be undermining the people's will. Cabinet should ultimately be made up of 3 parties. ANC, DA, IFP. NO ONE ELSE HAS ENOUGH OF THE VOTE TO DEMAND A POSITION.
@@lorrainehodge3693I understand that, but if far smaller parties get a ministry, they are getting far more than their proportion allows. In effect, not aligning with the will of the people. Each ministry equates to 3.3% proportionally. Hence, only the ANC, DA, and IFP should get leading ministerial roles. Everyone else in the GNU should be considered for deputy positions. It's quite simple. Anything else would not be fair and would undermine the will of the people. This should be the starting point.
The ANC don’t want to give up anything. Every ANC politician appointed as a MP, Minister, Deputy etc etc gives 10% of their Income to the ANC. The ANC already lost 70 seats in Parliament never mind all the ones they lost in the Provinces. Calculate that and see what the ANC’s reluctance is all about, greed
Then do not call for a GNU if you are not prepared to share cabinet positions proportionally. Technically, any party with less than 3% of the vote should not be considered for a cabinet position.
In terms of the constitution, the President has the right to appoint all cabinet ministers. If he goes against the GNU agreement made with another party, all that party can do is leave the GNU.
@@bevturner2258 that's pretty obvious. The question is, will he prioritise the people or his party. Don't call for a GNU, and not be prepared to share power and positions. The ANC has proven it's incapable of governing effectively. Give someone else a fair chance. The ANC wants their cake and to eat it too. Can't have it both ways.
@@LonelyTreeSunset That’s the million dollar question 😊 I think he’ll try and do both… He’ll prioritize his party and try and get away with offering less than 1/3 to DA. I doubt it will be proportional, that’s why this is taking so long. ANC deliberately invited all the smaller parties in to dilute the DA. ANC have forgotten about who voted them in and this will cost them down the line.
The negotiations need to take place otherwise the whole thing collapses. Ramaphosa is not so stupid as to appoint people without consultation , particularly when we have multiple parties in government.

But he signed an agreement with the DA before they supported his election as president. And he must comply with that agreement. A man's word us his honour!!!

Stakeholder management is a reality of life. Even in the most authoritarian regimes where the centre holds absolute power, they still exercise it with due consideration of other factors and stake holders.
The electorate gave this government a clear mandate. Representation in cabinet should be proportional to the vote. Anything else would be undermining the people's will.
Parties also have the powers to pull out of the GNU, file a motion of no confidence against him, which forces the ANC to negotiate with the EFF and MK who will demand way more than the DA 😂
@youbrokeitwefixit1723 They must 1st prove themselves by running 1 municipality well before they can demand 1 of the most important portfolios. Can't even stick to the promise of building 1 school. It's easy to be humble when you're stuck in the cold on the outside. That will all change quickly when the negotiation power is in your hands.
@@swartkat4394DA pulling out would break the impasse & roll in the so called coalition of doom they claim to be afraid of. Only DA and their 21.8% see it as such, so who will be the biggest loser there? If Cyril Ramaphosa allows Helen Zille to dictate how he should use his powers, they are heading for some choppy waters. They did well rejecting MK trying to dictate the leadership composition of ANC.
Someone finally woke up. Yet we have failed to educate the ministers of Justice that their jobs included Costitutiinal Development. That would be true if there are no other options of going into coalition with the EFF and ATM, and obviously the rest of the crew would follow like the PA, PAC, UDM. So ypur statement is not entirely true.

@@runningman2989It is not about uneducated people, it is about people who promote their own objectives and what citizens want..... that is not relevant to them
The solution is simple though. Ramaphosa must resign. Paul Mashatile takes over. DA & FF leave the coalition (hopefully together with the IFP). EFF and MKP join the coalition. The business of the government continues, the programme to develop our country and its people begins.
You are naive to think that coalition will bring a better life for all. The ANC had full power for 30 years and could not achieve that. How is the ANC and its two offsprings going to achieve that?
You clearly fantasise about living in a failed state. MKP, EFF, and ANC would destroy this country in less than a year. Why not move to Zim or Venezuela instead?
