Construction and Finishing of a Production Centre in Accra

Because we were using a hidden/flat roof, we constructed the gutters into the inner edges of the building with the pipes carefully placed inside the building. This way when it rains, all the rain water that hits the roof will flow unseen into the ground below.

The main reason we used the terrazzo for the flooring is because this is a production centre. Terrazzo is more durable than the tiles in this regard hence the reason why we chose it. For the flat roof, we created roof gutters that flow into a pipe that has been hidden inside the structure of the building. This makes all the rain water flow through the building unseen and into the ground. The goal is to have a clean and functional design and this includes not having too many pipes sticking out of the building.

It's all about planning. We knew from the beginning that this building was going to have a flat roof so as we progressed with our build, we made all the necessary arrangements structurally so that when we install our roof, we would not have any issues with leakages. Although it looks simple to do, if the flat roof is not done properly, you will have issues that is why we prefer to use companies that have a proven track record with these types of roof. Should there be any issues, we would address them at no additional cost to the client.

@@Jacobwestgh just curious, which companies do you use for your roofing? Also per your experience, which type of roofing system will you recommend to a will be client; traditional vs hidden ?
