Plasterboards are basically POP with the only difference being, plasterboards are pre-made. Using plasterboards gives you a cleaner finish than POP. The process is also quicker and can be completed in a matter of hours if the place isn't so big unlike POP that requires a mold and some time to dry. Plasterboards can easily be repaired if they are damaged an won't cost you as much. You can compliment the clean finish of your plasterboard ceiling with corner molds, assuming you want some kind of design in your room. Cost wise, plasterboards are better and most cost effective than POP. At the end of the day, the one you use comes down to your personal preference.
