Lecture Synopsis:
An overview of a young engineers' involvement in a world class project, involving 2x 2000m shafts and 1x 360m shaft. This presentation has a particular focus on James' involvement in the Service Shaft, utilizing Shaft Boring Roadheader technology and all shaft-related infrastructure being positioned underground in a 35m diameter, 43m deep foreshaft. James focuses on his involvement in package management and leading the construction activities, whilst ensuring change management and technical details are met regarding engineering, procurement and construction."
Speaker Biography:
James Heslington is Lead Project Engineer with DMC Mining Services and holds a BSc and MSc from Camborne School of Mines. James won the 2021 Tunnicliffe Medal for his outstanding early career work on the shaft sinking at Woodsmith Mine.
