My ships on instagram - / 3drcships The construction took half a year and more than 1000 hours of 3D printer Scale 1:100 Length - 210.5cm Width - 28cm Height - 46.5cm Ship Weight - 25kg
That is fantastic and really clever. Actually very similar to how cruise ships are constructed, in modular prefabricated blocks. You did a great job, I am inspired to try a similar thing although I can imagine the design and CAD work must have taken a very long time!
Great job, looks amazing. Not sure what your final intention for it but if you weather it's finish it would look even more incredible with that level of detail. It's amazing as it is but would look even more realistic with good weathering - realise that's another skill in itself though, dont want to mess it up.
Thank! On my channel there is a video with the launch of the ship, but because of the strong wind, I could not test the ship normally, soon I will launch the ship at sea)
Wonderful! I want to build one like yours in 1/87 scale. What type of plastic did you use to print yours? What solvent or glue did you utilize to connect sections?
Of what I understand, it takes quite some time for a 3D printer to do the job. I remember seeing a video of someone who 'sent' a massive model of the Millennium Falcon which lasted nearly two weeks, constantly printing.
Vlad V I wished to build a big cruise ship model too, the Excellence class. Either Costa Smeralda or Mardi Gras would be the choicest for me. Can also serve as suggestions for you too, since you already have a 3D printer. ^^
@@OozoraKazuki Costa Smeralda and other ships are of course very beautiful and good, but I think it will not be easy to build because of the large number of cabins. Will you build a ship on the radio? And on what scale? As for tips, I don’t even know what to say. If you have any questions, I will help you!
@@vladv9534 I rather design them as printable paper model kits, ferries for the moment, but working on Costa Smeralda and AIDA nova. You can check out the latest models on my Facebook page at facebook.com/KashiwazakiPaperModelStudio/
It looks really good made. As you write, it's a RC model. Have you tested her on the water? I am curious because of the weight. How is the handling on the water? Maybe some video would be nice?
Thanks! On my channel you can see - the launch of the ship on the water, but because of the strong wind, I could not normally test the ship A little later, I will launch the ship again, but already at sea
Gosh it’s amazing! Wonderful work, the printer did a really good job, the hull’s surface is so smooth, no imperfections. Did you built the ship by yourself in CAD? And what type of printer are you using? I’m also thinking about buying one printer for my own projects
@@vladv9534 hi I am wanting to build Royale Caribbean harmony of the seas and want to make it from plastic and use a 3d printer but am struggling to find files could you help me out thanks. am looking to build it around 80m long by around 35 wide
I'm looking for a "printable" Carnival Vista model, even if it's printable in pieces that I have to glue together and paint. Carnival Dream and RC Allure Of The Seas are also of interest.
@@vladv9534 how did you design it I'm looking into making my own 3d model soon but I don't know how to get the detail that you have gotten any tips that could help me?
@@dinoplays1019 I don't know how to explain it in writing, if you know 3D modeling and how the ship works, then you will be able to make a 3D model of the ship! What kind of ship do you want to design?
Hey Vlad :) Really nice ships.... und thats possible with 3d printers... awesome. 5 years ago if you want a cruise ship model you have to go to a specialist company and pay 30 000 € Now you need plans.. a printer and start... haha . Ok... i´ve also a few Questions... You have the JG AURORA A5S 3D right? Is it possible to make bigger Ships? We want to build the Celebrity Eclipse.. and yeah we want to knowif it´s possible to do it with this one..next question where did you get the plans for the seabourn encore? from the ship yard? did you have to pay for? and i think for now the last question.... first you have to draw the construction plan with the cad.... and then? copy paste to the printer? ok a really last question.... is it difficult to make the plan with the cad... i have to say i m a little bit nervous cause i m not the *pro cad user.. :D
Hello, thank you! Yes, I am using a 3D printer - JG AURORA A5S. And with this printer you can really build larger ships, you just need to divide the ship into more blocks! Almost all plans for - Seabourn Encore I made myself! in the program - 3D Blender. Of course, designing a ship was not easy, I studied hundreds of photographs and videos. The shipyard did not give me any plans! Celebrity Eclipse - a beautiful ship! On what scale do you want to build a ship? You can write me an email - sheglovitiy@gmail.com
Hello) I don’t even know what to say. Do you have more detailed questions? It seems to me to build a cruise liner, without a 3D printer - it's not easy and long enough
The thing is in tryng to build the boat on my profile picture its called viking grace i have Somme stuff i just Need another motor and maybe another servo buut i wanna build a detailed super structure and i need tips on what materials two use but sadly i dont have a 3d printer😢
@@EdvinWH A ship can be built from wood and epoxy You can even build it from cardboard and then cover it with epoxy resin, this will make the ship strong and waterproof But it's harder than building a ship on a 3D printer Have you built ships before?
Nice ship! Impressed that you made it yourself in 3d. I really want to print a big model of a ww2 battleship. Either 1:144 or 1:200. I see you can get free or buy 3d models, but I'm just wondering how you printed the ship in moduls, and how heavy is it?
Thank! To build such a ship, of course, is not easy and not fast. You need to make a 3D model, divide the 3D model into blocks and print the ship blocks on a 3D printer, then glue all the parts of the ship... Do you want to build ship also on a 3D printer and on a radio control?
@@vladv9534 I understand it takes some time ;) but I see there is a lot of 3d models online for free and for cash, but then you have to split it into blocks, is that easy? It would be fun to build rc into it but it's not a must. On top of the list is the battleship Yamato in 1.144 scale....
Awesome build! In the synopsis you wrote that it took abt. 1000 hrs 3D printing. I can well imagine that it took you so long to construct the 3D model on the computer, but I hope not that the actual 3D printing of the sections took so long. I wonder are you a CAD engineer for a living? What software did you use to render your model? What 3D printer? Did you have drawings from the shipyard to aid your 3D model construction work, or did you achieve this from photos and your experience and imagination alone? No, don't be afraid, I will not ask you where to get the plans.
Thanks! I am using the program - Blender My printer -JGAurora A5s, soon I want to buy another 3D printer I have no drawings, I used the second option that you described I am currently working on a ship - MSC Fantasia and will soon be building it
@@vladv9534 thanks for your quick reply. Though I'm a die-hard Linux user since over two decades I have to admit that I've never given Blender a serious try, which I'm sure was a wasted chance to get to next level of computer aided ship (re)construction. So far I am stuck at creating digital hull models of ships that I like with the Free version of DelftShip which, although DS is compiled for Windows only, I run entirely on my Linux laptop in the Wine layer. This works very well and with my pratice meanwhile astonishingly rapid. But I would like to take it one step further, either by producing actual building frames, keel, stem, and stern plates which could be sent to a CNC mill, or like what you do, to render structures ready for 3D printing, even though I have neither a CNC milling machine, nor a 3D printer. I also already lofted a couple of DS hull models of cruise ships. I think I should install a recent blender build on my Linux laptop and play around with it to see whether I can get grip of this software, or if I fail miserably. Do you think I could import an DXF or STL export of one of my many DS hull models in Blender?
@@vladv9534 DelftShip, which I abbreviated DS. It has its own file format with the filename extension .fbm, but has multiple export file formats. DS is a commercial derivative of the free hull lofting software FreeShip, but DS also has a free version with reduced feature set, which can be downloaded even without registration and which I am using for passtime hobby purposes. Just google for delftship download. Installation on Windows is just a few clicks whereas installation on Linux, where as a prerequisite an installation of your distro's wine package and its dependencies (which will be taken care of automagically by the package manager) required, is a little bit more involved. But in the WineHQ database, if you search for DelftShip, there is an easy to follow recipe how to install DS in Wine.
Hello) I have a video on launching a ship on the channel, but because of the strong wind I could not properly test the ship, Soon I will lower the ship into the water again)
@@vladv9534I'd like to print it with my printer, if you send me the stl i'd be infinitely grateful. I'm trying to draw the costa concordia, on a scale of 1/200 but I'm not as good as you are yet in drawing. in the hour I have done with good results a patrol boat class 800 of the Italian coast guard.
@@SuperCougar82 Do you want to build it on the radio? On a scale of 1/100? Like mine If you simulated a boat in one hour, this is a very good result. I spent several months building a 3D model of Seabourn Encore. This is a rather complicated process
@@vladv9534I don't know if on a scale of 1/100 or 1/200 anyway it is radio-controlled. I have in construction wood and fiberglass the Costa serena on 1/200 scale, but I wanted to redo it in 3D
All ships, I design myself It is difficult to find schemes for ships in the Internet, there are only schemes for ship decks, but this is very little for building a ship
The price for a fully finished ship on a radio control is $3000, but this is without a battery and shipping costs Of course it is possible and cheaper without electronics
The price for a fully finished ship on a radio control is $3000, but this is without a battery and shipping costs Of course it is possible and cheaper without electronics
It is well designed, but in 3D printing anyone would do it without problems, if it were made by hand as a classic diorama from scratch it would be different, it would still be excellent
Ya dont got to have a 3d printer just the willingness to start. Ok to get the level here you do but I guarantee he didn't just start with this. Start small plastic kits and balsa kits then once you have a handle on that move up to designing your own projects. And talk your parents into letting you work with some 3d software. Eventually you can and will make something this cool.
Hey man, I want to make a movie: “The Poseidon” and if your up for the challenge, could you build a cruise ship that would be waterproof from sinking, because in the end of the movie, it goes under the water. If your good with this, then I’ll give you my email, and we can start talking about it
