Good job recycling and repurposing the tool boxes. I believe everything should have a dual purpose in life. Keep up the great work 🌶😃

Hey Dalton, positive recycle for the tool boxes and great you found a common project/like/interest with your coworkers, helps build a positive work environment.

Next time you use containers like the tool boxes, after the holes in the bottom put in dried branches and sticks of wood and then the compost, the wood in the bottom holds the moisture and it won't dry out so fast. Don't forget to mulch the top as well

Need pine needles. A 3 to 4 inch layer (leave fluffy don't compact) of pine needles will protect the soil from drying out plus they decompose at a much much slower rate then regular mulch. Pine needles have a ph level of around 3.5 which plants love 😊

@@marchingmoto also, sorry I failed to mention this previously. You have to watch those soil temps. as well. At 85 degrees root growth stops and anything above 96 degrees (I think) roots start to die.

Peppers are heavy feeders, the yellow leaves can be from a lack of nutrients. You can get some of those plants food sticks and put a couple around each plant or get some miracle grow to add to the water.
@starrbyers58

The yellow leaves mean you are over watering . give them a good soak every other day in the evening

My peppers don't do good in bright intense sunlight. Might want to try some screening to cut down on the direct sun.

In UK we call those hot Asian chilli’s Birds Eye Chillies. Might be worth looking that up. Not heard of Carolina chillies. The Mexican ones oh yes. If We want them here in France we have to grow them or buy them in jars. Our region they do not like hot food. For us Curry is like roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. Typical Brit food 🤣🤣👏👏👏🤞🤞🤞🥳🥳🥳🥳

Your garden looks very nice, so just keep doing what your doing, if bugs ever start trying to take over, use 7 dust and that will kill them.. but right now, everything's looking good...love the planters, great idea... thanks for the extra 😊
@marchingmoto
@marchingmoto Месяц назад
Yes we’ve put 7 dust on them a few times because they had some beetles on the leaves and it got rid of them! Thanks!

When you have a leaf that is showing yellow with green veining it is a lack of iron and you need to amend the soil.

Great idea with old tool boxes. I am just guessing but the front black tool box seems to be giving you the most problem. You know black is used in almost any solar panel or thermal panel because it absorbs sunlight and produces heat (or electricity). Your shop looks like it is light colored. Imagine if it was dark colored. You would be working in an oven. Anyway, next year, paint black tool box white but this year just find some old plywood and cheap white paint and put in front of black tool box. Lean it at an angle to get some air between the two. But yes keep up the excellent watering that you have been doing!

Yowza! That some heat. Something sticks in my mind that the heat of peppers is related to how much water they get. Have you heard this too?
@marchingmoto
@marchingmoto Месяц назад
I have actually apparently if you starve them for water when the plants mature they get spicier

Get yourself a nice big garden going in your field at the house. The second house I redid I put in a garden. Had good luck with squash, tomatoes, and especially strawberries. Nice part about the berries was they were self proliferating. Runners sprout of the original plants so that my original 6 plants spread to about 20 sq ft in just a couple years. Really sweet too. I also did cantalope, but no peppers.

Carolina Reaper is HOT AF. The same guy who created the carolina reaper also created Pepper X. I'll guarantee you won't use the entire pepper at one time. a small piece at a time. I use the reaper in chilli just the end of it spices up my chilli.
