As the tips of my quivering fingers reached nervously to meet its rusted surface, a roar of energy emanated from deep within its metallic core. Lumbering appendages unfurled loosely with the rattle of mechanical components as it awoke, rising up as a beast from slumber to meet my gaze. It lifted from the meadow's covering to unveil its daunting breadth just as a luminous sphere flickered to life on its front plate.
