Such fascinating insights into containers, Kate!! My small home and garden are 102 years old. My style leans traditional, with an artistic flair and a touch of whimsy. I'm also a senior, and must plant containers that are lightweight enough that I can manage them. I'd value your thoughts on planting containers as we age... 🩷 Dawn (IL)
This was a great video. So helpful. I’m on the hunt now for a pottery store. All I’m aware of in my area are the big box stores. The containers are a big investment. Living in a northern climate I have to be able to move them indoors. Big heavy ones are hard to move but they are so beautiful!! You gave so many helpful hints when shopping for containers. Especially larger is better. I LOVE all the video you make, thank you!!
Great video. I love all the pots you picked and the arrangements are gorgeous! I slowly changed most of my containers to blacks and whites in the last few years, but did keep my turquoise too ❤ I may have to find a metallic black with those bubbles!
Love this! Oh my gosh the Matt black paired with something deeper toned metallic - perfection. My eye is always drawn to modern lines but very traditional style grey containers but I’m going to be looking for more blacks and metallics in different finishes and textures. THANK YOU ❤️
It’s one of my favorite things to do. It’s like jewelry shopping! And The State is having me bring even one more… which makes me so happy that they love them this much.
Fabulous video! I love all your great advice! I never knew there were so many ideas when choosing new pots. So eye opening! How do you feel about the self watering pots? I don't have any yet. Many of my pots go on my deck and I can't use drip tubing from there. It's a pain to water. Hope you revisit these pots when you plant them up. I love your plant choices.
Hi, I am finding your videos really informative and helpful. I wish I had the selection in Albuquerque, NM that you have. It makes it a lot more difficult to put together a pot planting when I have to go to several stores and still don’t have a large assortment.
Awesome place! Awesome tour! Awesome info! Love your channel. I use lots of containers on my deck and front porch… very southern 1913 house. I’m careful to keep them elevated so they drain well. My issue is the mess they make when they drain. How do you handle that?
I'm new to your channel. I do mosaics on Terra cotta pots and am always looking for affordable pots. Wow, this place is awesome. I live in no CA. We have a place called pottery world, but their prices are really really high. Nice to see another store. Thanks for sharing. Would love to have known some of the prices.
Thanks for addressing and educating us on pots. This is my, by far, biggest dilemma. Would love to have a source such as Pottery Land . Love the black clay pot with the pie ridge and the other two that 'Clair' has on hold.
Unglazed terracotta & cobalt glazed is what I have for most of the pottery in my garden. I love those metallics though & want to add some in if I can find a local source.
I am curious how you fill these large containers. I am guessing that tall pots can be partially filled with something other than soil. Can you address that. In my old job I knew the company that fully rehabed that hotel. Before they took it on it was in really bad shape. They did a stunning job of bringing it back to life. I got a tour shortly before it opened. The rooms were so beautiful and thoughtfully designed.
Are there rules or tricks about container placement? Nothing in my hardscape is symmetrical and so I have trouble figuring out where to put containers. I love my containers but I feel they just don’t blend in well.
I agree perfect is overrated, especially if you can't afford perfect it hides a lot of imperfection. Put your money in your flowers, that's what people will see.
What a great video! Such awesome content and information I never thought of when choosing and arranging my containers. lol now I’m thinking I’m modern based on my container choices and colors 🤔
Oh man. I love containers that match a style of house, but I also love containers that are a hard contrast and build tension! For me? I’m eclectic, but love mixing vintage and modern… but always make it joyful!
OMGosh. I wish I’d known about this pottery shop while my son lived in Lynnwood. I made one road trip and I could have brought home some beautiful pottery. 🥴
