Contax TVS II First Impressions

Always been a fan of the Contax Compacts ever since I started photographing with film in 2009. Recently, I picked up a Contax TVS II after selling my Contax T2 released. The TVS was a compact camera of choice during the '90s and it is under-rated today. I personally feel this camera is the next compact point and shoot that will double in price. We have all seen it with Yashica t4, the Contax t2, the Minolta HC-1, and the Contax t3 etc etc.
I have owned a Contax T2, G1, G2, and now the TVS II and they are all awesome cameras. I would argue the best value of the three is the TVS II and maybe the G1 with the 28 or 35mm lens. I have only photographed three rolls through the TVS II but so far so good. This video is just my initial impressions of my first few rolls. Great review! I'm a huge Contax fan/collector and have owned many cameras. The Contax TVS ii is one of my main travel p&s film cameras due to the zoom ability. Keep up the work!

I just got my TVS today. I def did not pay $400. I spent a little more coin for new dead stock, never used, with all accessories excl. uv filter. So far I love it and cant wait for how the test shots turn out.

I just got a Contax TVS I not II a month ago around USD350, but the exposure turning wheel is a bit broken, so I spent another USD75 and bought another TVS I which is not functioning due to shutter cable problem, and using the failing one as spare parts and now I got a perfect TVS I for around USD425. Also I plan to ship the failing one to China Shenzhen to repair, and it will cost another USD100, then I will have two fully functioning TVS I🤣

I don't know if it is my eyesight, but the pictures look out of focus and blurry?

which is better, t2 or tvs i/ii?

T2 will have a slight edge on image quality because it's a fixed prime. But the TVS i&ii are still both zeiss lenses so pretty high up there in terms of point and shoots. The T2 will obviously always be more expensive and retain more clout so would arguably make a better investment. In terms of that, they both went up by about 250 in 3 years. A nice T2 went for about 750 in 2019, a TVSii went for 250. Now a T2 is 1000 and TVSii goes for 500. Although now a TVSii goes approaching the same price as a fujifilm Klasse and that camera has way more clout and street cred
