ahh eight is such a special song. A lot of fans have theorized that the song is about IU grieving and thinking back on memories of her friends that she's lost (Jonghyun, Sulli, Hara) and people say there are a lot of references in the mv that support this (the girl in the white dress, the dragon and lizard referencing Sulli and Jonghyun). The lyrics are so well written and I think strike a chord with everyone whose experienced something like this.

Eight is always special for me. Even before reading the translation I cried. I think they did AMAZING on this to have a melody that is somehow......feels like reminiscing. Its happy but somehow you feel the melancholy. Once I saw the lyric translation, I realizing how awesome the arrangement is on the production side and how it was delivered.

this is not meant badly *at all* but i think you'd enjoy a deeper dive into taylor swift b-sides, it's quite sad if your favorites are 22 and we are never getting back together because you're missing out on so much! she really had a lot more to offer and enjoy, especially if you're into songwritting
