My cylinder adapter is worn and won’t turn the shaft. The cylinder just turns 360° and won’t actuate the lock. The shaft engagement teeth also appear to be worn. Perhaps the metals used are too soft.
Our knobs are almost 10 years old, trying to replace with new Kwikset. Is there anywhere I can find that tool thing to remove these knobs at a parts store? I'm sure we lost the tool years ago :(
Most of the keyed locking systems I've seen from Kwikset are reversible but I don't think it is possible to reverse the direction of a lockable door knob that just has a tab. I've tried taking it apart and don't see a way to switch the tab action from turning left to lock to turning the tab right to lock, for example. Is there any way to reverse the locking direction for a tab-style door knob lock? Thanks for any help.
Hi Barnaby - Here to help! The interior turn piece on the knob cannot be adjusted to turn in a different direction. The direction in which the turn-piece rotates is determined by the door's handing. Also, it will be in the vertical position when locked and in the horizontal position when unlocked. 3 problems. 1- the cylinder they sent is not compatible with my existing lido lever. Mine does not have a long cylinder attached. 2- Cylinder adapter is not possible to remove as shown in video at1:10. I tried with the tool shown, flat head screwdriver and even needle-nose pliers. I have installed over 30 locks so experience is not the issue. 3- it has taken 3 weeks to receive the incorrect replacement cylinder. Either send me a new Lido handle lock, or stop wasting my time. It shouldn't take over 3 weeks to replace a defective cylinder that takes 15-20 minutes to replace, if proper parts were sent. Of course today is Sunday and no support person available.

The lever I want to remove has two small shallow holes, and when I try pressing into them with a pick I can’t make anything happen. Anyone know what I need to do to get this lever off?
Same problem. Mine has 2 holes that look like screw holes but on the inside theres nothing. Just two round holes. I have tried hex keys and just about everything. Im lost.
This Day Is Mine I gave more details to my local locksmith and they said they would have to come visit to do it, and I might not even find any different knob to replace it with.
