Today I'll talk a little about the landmark court case Plessy V. Ferguson. Along with the Civil Court Cases of 1883, Plessy codified the concept of 'Separate but Equal' into American law. Most of you recall this law from your history class. If you're like me you probably don't recall the true significance of the SCOTUS decision, or how it, in a real sense, extended the suffering of African-Americans into the middle of the 20th century. It is one of the few SCOTUS decisions overturned and a case where the hallowed court simply got it wrong.
