This is pretty much the best and only place to go to find out what a case will support for a custom loop.

2023 has been one hell of a year for great PC cases, video games and even monitors. So many options to pick from and great prices. It's been a damn good year.

That rear cable cutout needed to be 2 inches bigger for us three monitor guys who happen to employ monitor adaptor dongles. Minor gripe that can fixed with cable extenders.

Zotac 4080 runs very hot on that vertical position, i had to change the orientation of the GPU mount bracket facing down on the bottom fans and all temps came back to normal.

@staslog1111 8 месяцев назад
Sapphire RX 7900 xtx nitro plus also overheats in this position. Not the best solution.
@cactuscat8009
@cactuscat8009 8 месяцев назад
it is caused by the vapor-chamber of the gpu the vapor needs to be able to rise into the heatpipes towards the fins. with one vertical position this is not possible and therefore the temps are horrible

Quite honestly, this is one of the better case reviews I've ever watched, mate. Considering the number of cases I saw in your work area, I was wondering if you've ever run across any cases that could possibly accommodate a regular ATX mobo AND a microATX mobo, two PSUs and two dGPUs? In other words, a case that can house two ATX systems. I've both liked and subscribed, so keep on with making the informative videos. Cheers for any help with this! 👍

Thank you. I don't think I've seen a dual chassis that will take anything over an itx for the second system. Unless it's something like a caselabs or thermaltake wp200 but those cases are huge!

I didn't know about the back triple hard drive bay. Good use of space. I'd love to see this case reversed. With the GPU to the front. Great for airflow and a great way to show off your GPU

2 days smashing this build out huh? Haha good lord man. As always great review and I agree with this being a contender. Great year for PC cases.

2:27 I disagree actually. Considering that the case can hold up to like 14 fans, having three included is pretty nice. I actually use two of them in my build. At worst, you can throw two of them in the top. They don't have to match anything when they're up there, and I'm buying three packs of the fans that I use. They're also daisy-chainable. If they weren't then I'd 100% agree with not including them. They also wouldn't have dropped the price that much for a fanless version anyway. 4:50 putting that thing back in is a PITA, because the bits that hold it aren't connected so you have to make sure you angle the filter properly to get it in the second section. Didn't notice that it said CTE though. That's a nice touch. 13:07 Meanwhile, Corsair's 280mm radiator fits there just fine, but then that limits what you can have on the right side and beside the motherboard. Fans do fit on the "outside" of the top if you remove the dust filter, so if you're using it as exhaust, it's a viable setup. 13:45 Alphacool's NexXxos XT45 v2 doesn't fit there neither, due to the holes not lining up. This has nothing to do with their spec sheet. Note that their spec sheet doesn't have 420mm radiator support ANYWHERE, because they flip flopped all over their support for 420mm radiators and custom cooling. They just f'd up updating their spec sheets. If you check their usa page specifically(not sure if links will delete my comment), you'll see the updated spec sheet that actually does have 420 support for everywhere but the bottom and top. I can't remember if I could get the Corsair 420mm rad to fit there. 17:06 Thing is, the bracket itself is pretty study, but the way it's mounted in is terrible. It's a waste that they really out the effort into something that almost everyone will ditch asap, given that it really only supports their own pumps. I wanna see someone have rads in just the right, back and top pushing out with the rest going in, just to see how that performs. I can't be bothered to redo runs just to test it. The hole coming out of the case is small but the one going from the motherboard IO to the back inside the case is a sharp 90 degree turn and it's really small. If you're using a ton of USB + ethernet + audio, you're gonna have a bad time getting everything through that hole. 26:30 They actually did say that, but I don't remember where. I think it's in the manual, that anything thicker than a 30mm thick rad on the sides would block rad support on the bottom. They started on the concept in like January, I think they said, and it's evident that they started advertising the product before they really tested things out, so they dropped the idea of 430 custom rads pretty quickly. Then they didn't update the documentation in all areas, so the only the USA page I believe even mentions that it supports 420mm custom rads. The TG models have been $199 since launch btw, which is still a fair price. I'd put it among top 3 mainly because of the price. You got a ton for less than half of what you'd get with the NV9 and O11 Evo XL, which are the other two 420mm rad cases. Solid review!

Well thanks, I had already committed to the Phantek NV7 for my next built and now you have to introduce this here...I'm just as indecisive again. 😅 It would be interesting to know if you can fit 4x 360 30mm radiators or if it will be too tight.

Greetings, I am a new follower, but I have been following your videos for a long time and this one has caught my attention, since I have that same case, I would like to try the acrylic plate as a support for the motherboard and I would like to know if Would you be so kind as to tell me what measurements you used for the acrylic plate?

This case has the layout support I've always wanted, but I don't understand why they didn't make the front and back of the cases symmetrical in exterior design. It's a silly deal breaker for me. I want the rotated motherboard with radiators flanking up the left and right, but I can't un-see how the symmetry of the radiators inside wouldn't match the exterior.

Thermaltake's new CTE case's look really good. been waiting since CES for these to launch. currently using a TT core X71 TG and like it a lot. but it lacks features new cases have like GPU anti-sag brackets, USB C, and RGB sync from the MOBO. other than that it is great and tons of room.
@UltraVert
@UltraVert 6 месяцев назад
That's the best thing about the CTE layout, zero gpu sag and I/O at the top imo. Silverstone had 90 degree patented for years, I can only assume Tt created the enclosed 'CTE' form factor to get around those issues. Same with their Tower line, it's technically 90 degree but basically a one off form factor.

How can you know if a GPU will perform well in this setup? Some people report their temps are higher when vertical. Is it cause of the fans, or heat pipes?

Very nice looking case but the front fan brackets and the front panels are kinda tacky looking, i would have preffered something more o11 style
@user-oe3mo6vq8b

All CTE chassis have filter issues. There is no frame across the filter to support it, so the filter stretches. A stretched filter wears out the fan and creates noise. The manufacturer must acknowledge the design error and supply a new filter.

It looks nice at first glance, but then seeing you try to install radiators everywhere, and nothing fits. And if you do get it to fit, there go your drive bays bye bye. I think I'd just buy a full tower case instead. The more space to move around the better you are, because cramming things in is a real headache.

Loved the review but hate the brand. They killed caselabs 1st they copied caselabs then threatened to sue them for copying "their" patent because caselabs didn't make a patent before. Not only that they still keep on copying others. Hate these guys. This is the only case/product that they did good job on.
