Bada is such a beast of a performer. Her stamina, her vocal range, her presence...it all shows what happens when you take advantage of experiences as a trainee-turned idol-turned musical theater actor.
Looking at this makes me think of how current kpop idols are pretty restricted. They are held by such high standards and perfection, while looking at Bada's performances shows how an idol can enjoy and have fun on stage while performing and engaging with the audience instead of holding a perfect image all the time. Kpop idols nowadays have to worry about so many more things and always have to think of upholding an image because people have become a lot more judgy nowadays, and because companies are focusing on a worldwide audience, more eyes and judgement are bound to fall upon idols and that leads to companies pressuring their idols to have certain qualities and to restrict them from a lot of things instead of enabling them to express themselves on stage.
They are also too young to have this type of confidece, a 14 yo girl have lots of insecutiries and doubts growin up, teens are figuring out who they are, imagine trying to express theirselfs, it requires kwonledge about your artsy preferences, your vision of world
@@thauthau while age can contribute to the issue , i dont think its the most important factor because there are 4th gen idols who are 18 to 26 and still suffer from those restrictions
One thing though Bada has the talent, charisma and vocals to put up such a performance, like maybe another idol could sing like this but their charisma is weak and cant perform the same, also to note that in concerts and not scheduled performances we see plenty of 4th gen idols focusing more on the performance and interaction with audience rather than performing a routine perfectly
this is the real performers... not only too immersed in the song, but also successfully hype up the fans.. performing not only herself but make the hall as one with the fans, the joys are incredible...
I love all the Beyoncé themed outfits she has on. They match some of her live performances. She's definitely a big fan since she sang one of Beyoncé's songs on stage too. Love it! Love her she's really talented, gorgeous vocals, amazing! ❤ Beyoncé would love her.
@@IntricatelyUrs-xn2zq yes she don't own it but its already her trademark performing while in fancy dresses for 2 decade meanwhile others keep changing their dress code
She is the definition of stage presence. Even when she is not dancing and sitting in a chair she has the audience in a headlock. She is the perfect textbook example of what it means to have true stage presence. Stage presence is not just looking cute and making faces it’s about being able to grab the attention and keep the audience engaged the second that music starts. Bada is a true live performance queen. She tells everybody to scream they scream, she tells everyone to sing they sing, she sings such a heart breaking song they cry. She will ALWAYS slay a live performance.
I'm korean and I can't believe how much recognition Bada has been getting from non Koreans as well wow.. I remember listening to her in the early 2000s when she first released her first album solo and was mesmerized by her voice.
I don’t know if I was just in some unique bubble back in the 90s but I was a little black American girl who was truly one of the biggest SES fans. 🥰 Thrilled to “sea” 😅 anything Bada does these days…pop music legend, right up there with the best to ever do it.
I remember watching her in the old music videos and performances and thinking how she was the strongest performer (best vocalist, best dancer) in the group.
Honestly with those performances I thinl she empowers more of latina powerhouses. Selena, Gloria Trevi, Belinda, etc. Like the music, the beat, the dances, the way she interacts with the audience? That's a latin queen for me.😂❤
looking at this. the 1st gen idol. KPOP has been same about perfection. The only difference is Bada is senior, there's more freedom given to her because she has kept the perfect image when she was rookie. No, certainly not fair but honestly idol career is no joke in Korea. There's too much talented people, so image is what sells idols.
When I say talent this is what I mean. A lot of people are born with a passion for a type of art, and they'll develop skills in that department so they can express their passion to the world, but others, are born with a *calling* and it's innate. This. This is real talent.
omg I remember the episode in the first clip! she was SICK there but still performed the best. the other celeb spectators even joked that if she wasn't sick, she would've flown through the roof cause even when she wasn't in 100% health, she still rocked the stage
This is what performances should be. Fans paid to have fun not to seat and watch you dance. We could do that at the comfort of our home. Conserts are to interact your fans, give them a smashing life performance and hyping the crowd up
I saw Bada this year at Ryeowook's solo concert in Japan. I actually didn't know who she was (I'm a very casual kpop fan) but I was so impressed with her stage presence, at the same time not overshadowing her host's stage presence either. She really is amazing!!
I need more idols who are still performing as grown ass women because Bada DONT MISS. She's still to this day one of the all time great vocalists in kpop and her performance skills and confidence are unmatched. But also there is an different confidence surrounding a seasoned veteran who already went through all the B.S. teen/young adult kpop performers have to go through and doesn't have the same self consciousness or pressure on them from a company who's worried about a perfect image. Her calling to the crowd and having fun and creativity in her performances is evidence of that. You just don't get that without experience. You can be confident and a great performer at a young age but there's nothing like the performance of someone who's been in the industry for over 2 decades.
Newer gen kpop artists.. please take notes. This is what entertainment should be about. Having fun while performing, bringing out the atmosphere! I'm tired of pretty faces staring blankly at cameras.. I really do. I want to have fun!
unfortunately they aren’t given grace to go all out and have fun like this! not to mention a lot of them just don’t have the vocal chops for this yet :/
I recommend looking at boy group Ateez. They have won 4/6 times in immortal song (the same show Bada is performing here) Their recent win made them the idol group with the most wins in immortal song surpassing Mamamoo. They won the recent immortal song which comprised of Bada, La Poem - classical opera group, a musical theatre couple, musical actor min woo hyuk and TNX. I’ve had the chance to go to their concert and their live singing while dancing was phenomenal. They really are called “masters of stage performance” for a reason. They are not afraid to look “ugly” during stages. They tour almost every year and even had a world tour twice in 1 year yet I’m amazed by their energy every time. They have said that they always perform like it’s their last time.
I didn't know who she was, but figured if she's going to dare dress like the Queen she better deliver. And yep, wow, wow, wow. Her presence is everything, her voice... Wow. Where do i get my Bada merch?
Hear me out, BADA AND HYOLYN ON ONE STAGE. I’m not sure if it’s already happened but the stage would collapse from the sheer power their vocals would have together😂
I have no idea who this is or what show it is, but I can confirm, she was absolutely the best performer there, judging by these small clips alone. Like dang, her voice, her moves, her charisma, her stage presence, her stamina, she really hooks you as a viewer. I'm gonna look her up, but whichever level of fame she has, is absolutely not enough. She should be an international superstar.
Oh hey, Winx club dissected. Didn't expect to see you here. That's Bada! She was a member of the first successful K-pop girl group, S.E.S. I really recommend you to check all their music. Dream comes true remains the most iconic song from them, undoubtedly.
THIS is what I miss from kpop. They used to enjoy the stage so much without so much care about synchronization and what not. It used to be a whole carnival on the stage! Nowadays it's just pretty face and looking cool at the camera
I don’t know who she is, but the look on Park Hyung Sik’s face was priceless. He’s too cute. But seriously, this lady has major talent and skills. Her vocals and stage presence is absolutely powerful. ❤❤❤
