Zealandia is always right on the boundary, and sometimes spans it, and is very distorted. If I had three wishes - one of them would be an in-depth treatment of its movement, breakaway from Australia, to the present day, and into the future. I think Zealandia continues to grow and move north, but resists the temptation to join all the other trendy landmasses in another supercontinent. Is that right? Please show us!
Christopher Scotese make an animation of future plate tectonics, from when pangeaUltima forms, to when it breaks apart, to when a new superContinent forms! TIP: pangeaUltima will fracture 450,000,000 years in the future
and ONLY show the distortion of landMasses and elevation what im saying: no fading when a landMass breaks apart, when 2 landMasses merge, when elevation changes, and when some parts of a landMass sink into the ocean pls show it in color PLS
Mr Christopher, when the book is going to be realeased? Will you inser in the book where you got the data of the sea levels? Will it be translated in italian? Thanks a lot for your work!
The book is in the works. Several years before it is published. The sea level estimates are based partly on the work of Peter Vail and my estimates of continental flooding derived from the paleogeography. - CRScotese
Cristophere please answer me. Is there a possibility that Neo Tethys, and then Arabia and Eurasia collision occurred 65 millions years ago cause of a greater arabia?
The Mississippi Embayment actually reached into southern Illinois as recently as 50 mya. Anything on extending reconstructions back significantly into the Precambrian? Rodinia and earlier?
It is either Mya (Million Years Ago) or Ma (Mega Annam). So some annotations will state Ga, this is equal to Giga Annam, or 1000 Mya or 1Bya. Hope this clears some stuff up!
