I almost don't want to point this out, but the Asian people would have been totally different if the Indian plate never reached that continent. Their eye and flat facial structure is a direct result of highland platforms and high winds.

Le mouvement des plaques vu du pôle Sud, est impressionnant. Dans nos vies humaines , on pense toujours que le tracé des côtes est 《définitif 》, alors que pendant 1 millions d'années, l'éloignement des continents est imperceptible à l'échelle géologique.

I love these transitional graphics but I never seem to be able to see how Hawaii developed. That particular hotspot shows a long trail of progression to it's present location. Just saying. I think when all of the continents are on one side of the Earth, the internal mantle must also be affected by the centrifugal forces and eventuallbreak up the mass above it. Then the subduction sides of the plate start pulling on one side while the other exapands. That seems to be the process, to me. Just wondering...;)
