In my country we learn that America is just one big continent, that is morphologically divided into North America (Alaska, Canada, USA, Mexico), Central America (from Guatemala to Panama, including the caribbean islands) and South America (from Colombia to the bottom of Chile and Argentina). And is culturally divided into Anglo-saxon America (Canada and USA) and Latinamerica (From Mexico and downwards).

Just an observation: Mexico is a country, but NOT the WHOLE CENTRAL AMERICA which includes the following countries: Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama, so please, it would be great you to check this data.

The seven-continent model is widely recognized worldwide, unlike the one that you just mentioned. North America and South America are two different continents. Central America and the Caribbean Islands are regions in the continent of North America. America, in English and many other languages refers to the USA.
