My brain gets stuck every 15 seconds listening to Jared, as he says mind-numbingly smart things. My brain doesn't really wrap that way, but I'm managing to wrap my mind around it somehow. Slowly but surely. He's a great teacher!!

Seriously! Same here. I have to listen to him several times to take it all in :)
@taylord50

Same here, but for the opposite reason. I think he is a pseudo-intellectual--not really being honest. I think he is a very good orator, but you have to question whether a good teacher is always head and shoulders above you. Maybe it's because it's just nonsense.

@@taylord50 You obviously have hatred for God. Your intellect can't process Jared's information. Humble yourself to God and man, and your mind and heart will be opened.

@@taylord50 personally TEST the precepts being shared, in order to find out the answer to your questioning. Will you pre-commit before prayer, to 1) ponder scriptures 2) write questions down and ask them prayerfully out loud somewhere in quiet solitude with God 3) write insights down which may enter your mind in response 4) be grateful for responses, again out loud and written down as gratitude expressed to God 5) share with someone close to you the conversations you have with God, someone who can benefit from the topic to begin to implement the two way conversation style of learning with deity? It is such an exhilarating, wondrous experience. One Tuesday in Mar at 3AM I was wide awake and got up to write down a thought after pondering. Then more came, & I had a hard time writing as fast as the thoughts would come for 3 hours more regarding the temple as a conduit between earth and heaven, as a place of connection, ennobling mankind via preparation, instruction, commissioning and empowerment. Such a cloudburst coming through completely startled me, humbled me and gave me massive tearful joy. It made me feel special, singular, surprised it would come to ME, yet most of all I felt beloved, just swimming in love. And I wanted to share, to gush this special instruction to others whom I love. I didn’t feel better than anyone else, I just wanted others to know how lovingly God receives us and patiently showed how the puzzle pieces come together perfectly. It reminded me of doing puzzles and talking with my own dad who had passed away 16 yrs ago that week. I felt close to heaven and tearfully grateful for that tender moment! If you can meekly put the teaching to the test, you will have been truly honest in your questioning and critiques. And I suspect you will find we are not above nor below one another. We are all on the same plane in God’s eyes: equally His favorite children in the moment when we come to Him.

Hi Bro. Halverson - I have listened to your four years of scripture study with Come Follow Me, which is about ending. I hope you continue these series. These topics are so needed with not only the youth, but to help those who need to answer their questions. There is almost a epidemic of those leaving the Church because of the issues. How can we help them, as well as ourselves. I believe specific issues need to be addressed and understood. Thank you for all you do.

This today has been an answer to my prayers. I live in fear that I will loose my worthiness that the Holy Spirit will find me unworthy to continue to teach me and guide me because I seem not to be doing something with what I I learned or so generously is given to me. Thank you Br. Halverson as I learn the many ways I can serve and give, no matter how much I lack and how slow I continue to be.

Keep these coming, I appreciate the insight. It reminds me of an All In podcast with George McKeown where he discussed the sacrament and he brought up these two truths -- 1. Come with all the faith you have. 2. Come pre-committed to act upon the words which God will speak to you.

There's a great book by an LDS author that shows that there's perfect harmony between the prophetic statements concerning the garden of Eden being in Missouri and the Old Testament account concerning the garden of Eden. It's called Canaan, Babylon, and Egypt A Comparative Theological Analysis on Creation sold by Eborn Books.

Are you the Jared M. Halverson who submitted a Doctor of Philosophy thesis at Vanderbilt University on January 31, 2022, entitled, "The Art of Ridicule in the Age of Reason: The Anti-Biblical Rhetoric of Thomas Paine"? I found your Masters thesis and am anxious to read it.

When you’re 16 and blessed that “in the Lord’s own due time” you will marry your eternal companion, you wonder if that means that it might not happen for a while, like until you’re like 25 or something. Then, when you’re turning 41, and it still hasn’t happened-even though you’ve made repeated attempts over the years, the phrase “Lord’s own due time” takes on an entirely new meaning. 🤪

Brother Halverson, how come no one mentioned that Shem was Melchizedek in the different Come Follow Me Podcast. Years ago there was a Blue Paperback book called “Lectures on Faith” and the last part of it was a bibliography on Shem as Melchizedek. In Section 138 of the Doctrine and Covenants President Joseph F Smith identified Shem as being the GreatHigh Priest between Noah and Abraham. Why do we not mention that anymore?

How can you teach to one that stop believing in Heavenly Father and don’t want help and you have to watch how this child of God is self destroying it self ? I puzzled and wonder what can I do ?
@Sablespartan

While you certainly can't force anyone's will, you can ask God to soften their heart so the might be receptive. If they are willing, address the reasons for why they stopped believing. If they had a testimony once, that can be rekindled. It just requires their willingness. While I personally have never struggled with faith, I have struggled with worth, hope, and pride. I stopped attending church for a couple of years. The road back was hard. There are two videos that I've watched recently that I think could really help someone dealing with a faith crisis. The first is "Stand Forever" by Lawrence Corbridge. The second is "If you feel like your shelf is breaking" by Jared Halverson. It is featured on the RU-vid channel "Called to Share."

My 3 siblings and I were all raised in the church. We all 4 had testimonies. One of us even served a mission. All of us went inactive. My mother must've felt terrible, but she showed us unconditional love. This helped me to come back. Knowing that the door was always open. Love can be a powerful thing. I am now following her lead and lovingly ministering to my 3 still inactive siblings. 2nd Nephi 25:26 is a good hope for parents. One day, children will return. Do not lose hope or love. Peace to you, dear sister.

Thank you to you both! Your words bring me hope and comfort! I do pray all the time is my way of dealing and the way to keep going I’m dealing with stage 4 kidney disease and I think due to my health I worry even more, but reading my scriptures, praying , loving and embracing the gospel is keeping me , I really know that my Heavenly Father know each and every one of us and know our needs, I will try to find the videos you recommend. Thank you again and blessings to you both
