I made one of these for the Linus project, but I'd love to make a rectangular one on my couch. I was wondering if it would work the same way if I just made a longer chain like the Granny Square retangulars?
I love the fact that you are working on a black background! It makes it so much easier to see and doesn't strain my eyes as so many others do. And instead of using your finger to point to a stitch, you use a needle to demonstrate where to hook. Thank you for making things so easy for this easily confused learner! 💟
Oh I am so glad it was helpful to you, Emily Thompson! My other tutorials are here: ru-vid.com/group/PLpolLUf9SLHgx42hUZEW9HCfsU1oqRxbU Thank you!! 🌼🌸🌼
I just finished this using baby blanket yarn which measures 50 x 51”. I’m almost 70 and just started crocheting with this Covid stay at home. You are a very good teacher. I’m legally blind and could enlarge the picture and see where a stitch was supposed to go. Thank you so much. Wish I could send you a picture.
you all probably dont give a shit but does any of you know a tool to log back into an instagram account? I was dumb lost my account password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Jayce Edward I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Thank you for sharing this pattern! I just made this with two complimentary hombre yarns and it’s fantastic! I’m a little bummed I’m giving it away! lol 😂
I'd like to thank you so much for the valuable tip you gave on how to avoid "wonkiness" by doing two less double crochets in each corner of the third row throughout, that is to say work 1dc 2ch 1dc in each corner of each third round. I now get perfectly flat blankets thanks to you, be they square or rectangle! Yayyy!
I made it! Thank you so much ! My daughter loves it. I did a changing yarn and solid grey colour yarn and it came out amazing! SO HAPPY for this vidéo. Super easy to make. I am now going to make a bigger one for myself 🥰
I ran across this tutorial when I was scrolling through videos, then lost track of it. It popped up again tonight, and I was so glad to find it again. Your teaching style is so clear and easy to follow! As a left-handed crocheted, I have to look very closely and make sure I understand what is going on. Your style is so easy to follow! I appreciate you so much! I intend to make this blanket in the near future. Thanks so much for another great tutorial.
I’ve always struggled to figure out whether the loop that starts a stitch is the loop to count when making the next row, or whether it’s the loop coming out of the stitch instead, especially on stitch ups. You made it super clear, thanks!!!
I appreciate the way you clearly point out which stitch to work into. This is such a great tutorial! I have made this once already. I recently purchased 2 different cake yarns on sale-not enough of either to make a blanket (impulse buy😀) I’m going to try using them together with this pattern. Thank you for sharing this!💗🧶
Oh I am so glad it was helpful to you, @StitchinGranny! My other tutorials are here: ru-vid.com/group/PLpolLUf9SLHgx42hUZEW9HCfsU1oqRxbU Thank you!! 🌼🌸🌼
I absolutely love the look of this pattern. I think I am the only one who is having issues by the look of things but I have to do your skinny corners as my regular corners and your regular corners as my fat corners every 3 rows or my blanket doesn't work up flat. I just had to flip flop things so it didn't get all wavy. I don't know what I'm doing differently but its working up wonderfully since I made that change. Thank you for sharing your pattern in this amazing tutorial that is so easy to follow!!
You explained that Really WELL for beginners. Especially pointing everything out with that needle! Genius! I could’ve used your teaching when I was a newbie! Well done!!!

This is perfect! I just thought “hmm I think I’ll make a granny square style blanket, but spiraled with two different colors... I wonder if there’s a RU-vid video for that.” Your’s was the first one the video list so I didn’t need to look further since you did so well explaining. You explained everything very thoroughly! And I love how you poke into the stitches with a knitting needle. That’s a confusing part with many tutorials. Thank you so much!
I really liKe this. I have made I have made this my mother taught me many years ago.. Thank You. I am looking forward to making this for someone very special on my pray list. Thank You many times over.!!!
You video is the best I've seen. It really helps that you explain how to find the stitches that might be hiding and that you show how to find the "hidden" stitches. Thanks so much
Just my luck. It’s currently out of stock on 3/4/2020, but I signed up to be notified when its back in stock. Thanks for listing everything you used. I’ve been away from crochet for 2 decades and having to relearn everything. Lol. Love ur stuff!
Great niece coming in august. Think if I start now I might figure it out. It’s so pretty. Have to remember to do the 1/2 the correct way. Thanks for sharing.
I absolutely love this tutorial. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this for us. I have made two blankets using your tutorial and they are by far my favourites. 🤩👏
I cant remember if I left a comment when I finished my spiral granny blanket. Had a look in comments but don't see one from me. So: Thank you so much, it looks beautiful! It worked up really quickly once the spiral got going. I really liked how I could put it down for a few days and come back to it and know exactly what to do next. I also love not having to count stitches and rows. My first blanket (yes, making another! 😃) I did 100% wool, with one cream spiral and one multi-coloured spiral. The second I'm abou to start in 100% cotton and with an ombre effect (I hope) going from light to medium to dark in one of the spirals. I love this pattern heaps and can't thank you enough for your tutorial. Your voice is very pleasant and you explain everything very clearly which, as a beginner, I really appreciate. 🌻🌻🌻
Thank you for the very clear and easy to follow instructions throughout the video - including how to create additional rows for a larger blanket. I have just completed mine and am very happy with the outcome.
I just finished making this. I used Joann's Big Twist in white and Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn in Candy Stick Stash. It turned out great! Thank you for showing us this great spiral blanket 🤗💖 Wish I could share a picture 🤷🏼♀️
I love your instructions ❣️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 finally found someone that really breaks it down 👏🏻 also love how you point the various stitch’s out with the needle ☺️ simple and you make it so easy to follow. Thank you for being your wonderful self 🤩🌻
I usually work with what I already have in the house, but this pattern is so cute that I'm going to buy colour changing yarn for it. Thank you for a clear tutorial and this cool pattern.
Thank you soooooo much Christa I've been dying to start this What a gorgeous looking blanket I think I'll be making a few of these, not just with my Picasso but also with some other yarns from my treasure chest 💕🐨
I dropped all my WIPS to start this blanket. I have a beautiful color changing yarn called Isis, made in Italy, but it's a ribbon yarn so I wasn't sure if it would work. I'm using a baby soft white acrylic with it and it is just absolutely gorgeous only 8 rows in. Thank you for this tutorial!!
I love this pattern. I'm not nearly beginner, but Idk how to do different stitches & patterns. This video is very informative & easy to follow. This is my next project! Thank you!
I was looking for a baby blanket pattern for a friend who are expecting there first child and thank you for this video love the way this looks . I’ve chosen this pattern.
Thank you! You made this tutorial very easy to follow, and I love the look of this pattern! I also like the black background for contrast. Using the knitting needle to help to locate the next stitch is very helpful!
I see your videos for a while, but never saw a real tutorial from this channel... Congratulations because you're a great teacher! 😉 And thank you for the great tutorial of such a beautiful project! 👍👍👍👍👍 Just love it! 😍😍😍😙😘😚 I saw it in the last live i watched and I think i asked for the yarn you used on the comments... 💖💖💖 I was waiting for this tutorial (without knowing that it's was going to be a tutorial for that great project!)....😊
Thank you for this tutorial. I just started my 6th blanket and my family loves them. I love that it is easy with few yarn changes and no counting. It's my favorite blanket to make.
Thank you for this well explained tutorial! I started my blanket today with Red Heart Super Saver Bright Stripes & black. It’s looking so good for my first granny square type project ❤
Elizabeth I have made one of these blankets and now starting one in pink color changing yarn and white baby for my first granddaughter who was born yesterday hope to finish it before I see her in a few days
Would it be easy to make this pattern in the round? How would you do it? My g-daughter is begging me for this but round. BTW, she loves your yarn room!
I absolutely love the colors and look of this blanket. I have my first great-granddaughter on the way and she is definitely getting at least one of the blankets. Thank you so, so much for sharing the pattern and tutorial with us.
this has to be my favorite go to for lap throws, afghans, blankets. My first one I made used, red heart super saver stripes and vannas choice yarns. I ended up making it big enough to cover my lap when sitting on sofa...could easily add more rows but leaving as is... Now I am making another with Loops & Threads Charisma chunky yarn for my husband...
Thank you soooooooo much Christa. I have been eagerly waiting for this wonderful tutorial. I have a great niece and a great nephew due in July and August. I'm going to be stash busting for the next six months making cool things for our new bubbies 😊 Kim in New Zealand
Wow! Christa you just made it so easy for me to understand this pattern. You’re a fantastic teacher!!!! Thank you!!! ❤️ 🇺🇸from Arizona, USA!🇺🇸 🦎🌵🌞🦅🦎🌵🌞🦅
Thank you... this was a good video, I do wish you showed how you ended it though as I'm still trying to figure that part out on things I do. I made a small one for my daughter's baby dolls eith left over yarn to see how well I could do this and now I'm half way done making a baby blanket for my nephews newest addition!
I love it thank you! I follow you from El Salvador in Central America and love to make crochet blankets. I just have a question: Would you say this is a practical blanket for an adult man? I need to make one for a relative and just love this pattern but I wonder if it's the right shape for a man thanks again
I LOVE♥️♥️♥️ how the picasso looks against that clean, crisp white. I'm thinking I'll use my ice yarns mirella with white for this pattern. Thank you for all the hard work that you do to educate us Christa. Keep up the FAB work. Loving you all the way from Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺
Gorgeous Yarn and Fantastic Tutorial, thank you so much. Your pointing out the exact parts of a stitch to go into for beginners is fantastic. I am not a Beginner, but you explained it all perfectly, I can see I will be checking out a lot more of your Tutorials from now on. Thank you so much .
