My wife and I have been traveling for 6 months now. She has the Transporter 65 and it has been able to fit in the overhead on over 20 airlines we’ve flown, mostly discount carriers. Even one plane had a weird small overhead that I’ve never seen before, and it still fit! She has it about 90% full. I have a Farpoint 40 but I like her bag better.

Great info, thank you so much for sharing! If you don't mind me asking; what part(s) of the world have the flights been in, have you taken it on a Ryanair flight?

MeanderingMax Yes Ryan Air. Also Air Asia and discount airlines throughout Latin America.

Very helpful comment. Have any airlines had problems with either of your Transporter65's with overhead bins/carry on? Response is much appreciated. Thanks! Great vid btw

Thanks, glad you liked the video! I personally never tried to carry my Transporter 65 on. I switched up shortly after this video and haven’t gone back to it. From the original commenter sounds like they’ve had good luck all over with it as a carry on, but they only have theirs about 90% full. In case you’re interested; I’m now using a size small (55l) Base Camp Duffel by The North Face and have had no problems carrying it on airplanes from Europe to US, small planes in the US, and US to Thailand, and I’ve had it pretty full. But in Thailand they weigh carry on bags and only allow 5 or 7 kg (depending on the airline) between your 2 allowed bags; so no chance there for me.

Just a note, the bag is double TPU coated so you shouldn’t need a rain guard anyway. Just a thought.🤷‍♂️👍😬😎

True, but I’m only interested in one for if there’s no avoiding walking in a real downpour. There are parts of the bag that would not hold up through that without one.

Do you think it would fit Osprey Exos 58 Pack inside it ? The Exos itself would be unpacked but its contents would be along with it in the transporter bag. Plan to take transporter to Nepal for trekking trip and need a duffle to transport my actual trekking backpack and its contents inside it on the airlines

Unfortunately, I’m not familiar with the Exos, so I can’t say for sure. Just gauging by the capacity “L” I don’t think you’d fit the Exos and a full load for it in the Transporter 65l, so if you plan to pack the Exos near capacity you might need the next size up Transporter (95l). If you don’t have another use for the duffel (plan to bring more back, etc.) you might just want to look into the Osprey Airporter, or similar by other companies. Hope this helps, and you have an incredible trip

How did the transporter hold up to the test of time?

It’s held up well. A few scratches, but no issues. I just wish they made one around 50L. The 65l is too big for my normal needs; I just use it for ski/snow getaways now… it’s great for bulkier things.
