*First boss's head explodes* Me: Well, that went down easy. Are all the bosses gonna go down that quick *Reveals second form* Me: I didn't need to sleep for the next month or two anyways.
I remember playing this with my big bro and once I saw that thing at 0:45 I was horrified and looked away from the TV while pressing random buttons on the controller and my bro yelled "Stop wasting my lives!". I was 8 at the time 😂. Then out of nowhere I remembered that moment and searched up "contra ps2" and this video came up. Rewatching it gave me the chills and understand why it disturbed me when I was a kid, thank you for uploading this!
Because video games are getting more casual. It sucks, I know. You can check out Super Cyborg on Steam, it is a spectacular Super Contra clone on steroids. Good stuff.
@@JanusHoW Lmao basic weapons or not, I don't give a damn about unlimited ammo. Mainly because of The House Of The Dead series. I mean, we're in for the fun of the games unless if you're 'realist'person haha.
The game is basically a sequel to Hard Corps. In fact chronologically speaking goes like this Contra, Super C, Contra 3, I think the GB game Operation C, Contra 4, Contra: Hard Corps, Contra: Shattered Soldier and finally Neo Contra. Oh and I forgot Hard Corps Uprising, I heard that one is before Contra 1 albeit I dont know if that's true.
It wasn't given very much publicity. It came out at the time when there was an insane amount of unbelievably good PS2 games being released, so I assume it got lost in the shuffle. I think the previous Contra knocked a lot of wind out of the series' sails, too. That crappy top down one. Can't remember the name
I suggest logging into the PS3 digital store and buying it asap. Who knows when theyll take it off. Oh and get Neo Contra too, which is a fun twist to the Contra formula.
+Bayou Billy Well, he turned into a terrorist just like the ex-hero Bahamut because of the corrupt government (who, according to Shattered Soldier, was responsible for provoking the aliens in the first place). The bad guys turning out to be good guys thing is very similar to the Metal Gear series now that I think about it...
I agree with you, however Lance was the Sylvester Stallone alter ego who was with us since the 80's...personally I think it's forced when compared to Bahamut's story. I think we are at the same level of Bionic Commando's Joe here...
+Bayou Billy Not familiar with the Bionic Commando lore. What happened to Joe? Its a shame that Arc Systems didnt get the chance to make a sequel to Hard Corps Uprising. We would probably have gotten to witness Bahamut's turning point into a "villain" with his friend Geo Mandrake.
They say it takes over 1000 hours to master something. How many hours you put in that game? That game was impossible for me i quickly gave up, u got mad skillz.
I played it twice a day for a month back when it came out. It’s more like 50-75 hours to get A rank. I got S rank in all levels except the last one. I said the hell with that cause I was going to have to spend probably another month to S-rank the last level. I ended up watching the S-rank ending on RU-vid. S-rank is no death + 100% hit rate for every level iirc.
@@sqrabbit1 You can use continue "from the beginning" if you die at any point, it cost your credits. But the rank will reset so you have chance to get S again.
Sindhu Baskoro Contra Hard corps Bosses are very creepy especially One which come On Air A big Brain With hands who Vomits Insects in his mouth and I cannot Play or fight with the big magnum because Of his creepy face And I never Chosed Option 1 Go after died joe and Go to the end Because The last Level is Sooooo Creapy And is full of bosses:- First a slug Then A frog Java Then a bug Kimkoh Then Mother Alien And Then Alien Cell With Java's Heart And Two Orbs
Man, the sound design in this game is like a room full of people trying to have conversations with each other by screaming over top of everyone else. I can barely hear the music half the time because all of the sound effects are cranked up so high they're crackling.
nice i played this game a lot the female cyborg was my favorite but of course i did loved even more original NES Contra, Super C and CONTRA3 snes glad i grew up with those
