I apologize for the low-effort video, but considering the bizarre beginnings of this channel, I wanted to do something for the #SaveTF2 event going on right now. Hopefully, it goes without saying that the fate of a 15-year-old video game is not the highest priority right now; not even in the top 100. Democracy faces existential threats; both externally (as in Ukraine) and internally (as in the US). Children and educators are being gunned down in the classroom, white supremacy has moved from a dog whistle to a mainstream political position, and even our autonomy over our own bodies is under threat (at least, it is if you have a uterus). But I reject the bad-faith whataboutisism that pretends to tell us that we're only allowed to care about one problem at a time, when its true goal is for us to ignore every problem. So I hope you all continue to work to make the world a better, safer, more equitable place. And if after all that, you have any mental energy left over, maybe spread some awareness for a silly but beloved video game. No matter how bad things may be, art and entertainment still matter.
