Was a bit bummed to hear the steam version got delayed but by the time i heard of it it was already out with that discount so yea easy grab great game so far the climbing can be a bit jank tho

Lacked a jumpscare warning for Joe Rogan but great video, the last Battle Royale i experienced in VR was whatever the one in Rec Rooms called like 3 years ago so the whiplash of how much VR has advanced.

Had fun during the technical tests a month or 2 ago and the gameplay felt solid but there are a few things holding me back. Like you said, the insane amount of floating white text UI drove me insane during the tests. THIS IS A VR GAME. Almost every HUD element should be in world. I hate the cheap floating Iron Man Jarvis HUD (but in the worst way possible) in Ghosts of Tabor, and I can't stand it here. I HATE having the super flat, traditional, flatscreen hud just constantly in my vision. It seems stupid but this is kind of a deal breaker for me. I play VR to be immersed. The second thing is that the game is entirely reliant on holding a large enough playerbase. I just don't believe this game will have enough players to get into matches fast enough in the long term. I don't wanna spend $20 on something I won't be able to play quickly in a year or 2's time. I got tired of playing during the technical tests because there were like 4-8 minute downtimes between actual rounds. It's tiring when I'm sitting at my desk playing Warzone, but it actually just sucks when it's in VR.
Just got home from school, off to a great start so far (also something i wish they added was you have to rack the bolt of your gun off spawn, its just fun to do

Does this game have the same issue that Contractors has on standalone where when you first fire a gun or look through a scope the game tends to stutters a bit?
Meta kinda has a monopoly if we are being honest. Everyone else is so far behind in terms of software and library as well as the market share for the VR industry meta is in the lead and it's not even close. Although allowing other companies to produce hardware that uses the Meta Horizon OS is nice and will help with competition.

I like the game alot but I am just not a fan of all of the UI on my screen. I prefer I more minimalist type of hud with not too much going on so I can focus. Otherwise the game is really good.
Hey there. I'd like to give some feedback, as a viewer who's been with the channel pretty much since day one. I've questioned whether I should stay subscribed a few times now. The main reason for this is the stark dominance of sponsored videos on the channel. While I respect the hustle, I have a hard time taking your opinions on games seriously when they're paid for in 90% of cases. This video is a great example of why I feel this way, specifically the UI section. While I appreciate that you did criticise it, I feel like you've vastly underplayed how honestly terrible and unpolished this aspect of the game is. When I played the beta, every aspect of the UI immediately gave me the feeling that the studio behind this game really doesn't care about a good first impression. The general design of UI elements is all over the place, with no consistent visual language to guide the player through this absolute mess of menus. There were also major things wrong with it, like the gun stock calibration's global default setting either not working, or being terribly designed to the point it may as well be broken. Another incredible oversight was the lack of an option to separately control the audio levels of game SFX and voice chat, something which absolutely every multiplayer game should have. What really killed it for me, though, was the total lack of attention to the smaller things. It goes so far that there were even slightly different font sizes used for settings within the same scrollable menu section. How does that even happen in the first place? Within the same settings menu, the joystick scroll would only work when hovering the laser between menu items. Again, I ask myself, how did QA not pick up on this? Are these failures in the very basics of UI programming really what this studio is comfortable presenting to the world? The moment I stopped playing the beta was when I noticed that the background ambience of birds chirping in the woodland area was on a loop. Now, that of course isn't a problem in and of itself, but there was a single chirping sample within that loop which was FAR louder than all the other ones, and it got incredibly immersion-breaking over time. How this was allowed to be in a VR game, a medium whose biggest strength is immersion, is beyond me - especially because it would have been an insanely easy fix to simply lower the volume of that one f*cking bird. Keep in mind that I'm talking about the beta here, not the fully released game. They might have fixed most or all of the issues I've mentioned already. However, given the developer's track record with the original Contractors, I doubt this. The UI in that game is still horrendously unpleasant, and the issue I've mentioned earlier of not being able to separately control voice volume, such a fundamental thing to any multiplayer game, is still not addressed there, five years after release. In a nutshell: If you're a player who values a bit of polish in their games, I'd advise you to stay far away from this one. I realise that most of the things I've mentioned are nitpicks to the majority of people, but man, if they don't add up. To get back to the point I was making in the beginning: I wouldn't expect anyone to point out all these details in a video covering the game. However, when that video is sponsored, it really makes me question whether you just didn't notice these issues or they didn't bother you - or whether you didn't talk about them because you couldn't.

I definitely do tend to ignore a lot of the minor issues like you mentioned when playing early access versions of a game since often devs are already aware of them and working on fixes. But just to help clear things up, I never allow a sponsors to have creative control over my videos or script. The only time my clients are allowed to ask for changes is when something is factually incorrect! But truthfully my entire goal with this channel is to get more people excited about VR. So when an amazing game comes around willing to sponsor the content I’m already making, I happily agree. I am constantly declining sponsorship offers because true to my word, I am trying to only recommend the games that are truly noteworthy or worth your time. Sometimes that happens to be a game I’m super passionate about, but other times it’s a game that I know people will love even if I don’t. But I always make sure to make my opinion pretty clear I think! Still I’m always open to feedback so thank you for this comment! :)

I don't agree with if you don't like Battle Royale you won't like this game, I f**** HATE Battle Royale games until I played this game, every single one of them. I never even enjoyed Warzone, PUBG, Fortnite for one minute... once I crossed into VR, Battle Royale actually made sense with the immersion and realistic scenarios. All while the game is $19.99 BEFORE discount lol.. take my money.
Totally agree, needs a way to disable unnecessary tooltips. I also think the motion smoothing could be a lot better, especially since I have shakier hands than a lot of other people, it can be a bit hard for me to select UI elements when the weird laser pointer is shaking all over the place. Other than that, cool game.

Thanks for the video, I’ll have to check it out. Not usually a fan of BR games but this looks fun. Definitely glad it has a pc vr option too, feels like a lot of games for vr lately neglect the pc aspect.
Just don't go into it expecting any sort of visual uplift for PC. Everything, including the massively noticeable LOD changes which can lead to terrain shifting its geometry in major ways literally 10 meters in front of you, is the exact same as it is on Quest (or at least it was during the beta).
