I love this game... The world and story are so fascinating... This is the first game where I was interested enough to read every collectable I picked up. I'm absolutely hooked!

I don't know why the enemies are full of smoke, but it sure does look cool when they pop.

I was in real control with my controller. Very unique.

I love how Remedy uses the same actors for their games, it's like a small family

I can agree with most of this. The setting is brilliant, but i was surprised that he didn.t even mention how horrible the navigation and map is in this game

I hope they start working on a new Alan wake game now.

He says "10 hours adventure" I saw a few other reviews, they say it's upwards of 20 hours...hmmm IGN

Found this on Xbox game pass and wow, it is awesome. Intriguing story and great mechanics, one of the best games I’ve played in sometime.

Played several missions now. This game is the best new wired game ever. Combined the feeling from both Cthulhu and SCP perfectly.

games/experiences like this are rare... beautifully crafted, immersive world, creative story, and engaging combat. glad to hear they're expanding on this universe. personal opinion 9.5/10

great game, 8.5/10, the level designs are amazing, and it gives that feeling of movie that i love so much in a game.

This is the closest we can get to a (AAA) game about BPRD/SCP Foundation .

It’s personally my game of the last few years. Haven’t had a story, setting and game play sink its teeth in to me like this in a long time. I’m finding everything about it phenomenal and I’m so glad I supported it with a first week full price purchase. Here’s hoping its the start of a SCP Foundation like series of games.

This is the best game I've ever played. I've finished Ragnarok, eldenring and Fallout4. This somehow does a star wars game better than any Star wars game. Excellent abilities and their diversity, alot of guns for various play styles and more collectables and secrets than atoms. If you can play this game, 100% get it. It's wonderful. First game I've thoroughly played the entirety of. The lag on my ps4 barely happens, and only does with tons of special enemies. Also there arent a few enemy types, there are tons. They have so many of them and they all so various things. Multi-launch is my favourite as it puts a twist onto the infamous first ability. Ground slam and shield rush are amazing too, plus with mind control and dash being frequently used in tough situations.

Second time this game is on Game Pass. Might be worth finishing this time.

I give it a 10/10. The songs in the game are amazing and the gameplay never gets repetitive

I just finished the story the ending kinda stumped me but I haven’t read all the files and listened to the audio logs. Now I’m going back and running through it. This game has been my favorite so far mainly due to how unique the lore and world building is. I’d like to know more and get more back story on what happened in ordinary. I’d say if you haven’t gotten this game get it. The Ash tray Maze was probably the trippiest psychedelic part of a video game I have played so far. And there’s more story and dlc content on the way. It’s not 100% perfect but this game is awesome.

The fact that you said nothing about the side missions and the amazing boss fights in them AND that you’re adventure was only 10 hours lets me know you skipped so much amazing content and did 0 exploration which is holding this review back

This games setting really is something Else in my opinion, they made Brutalism Fascinating

This is definitely on my buy on sale list. It looks like fun but i have the special edition of Astral Chain coming from Japan plus two other Switch games coming this week. Hope this game sells well, we need new ip's and single player games to thrive. I really hope to see more creativity and risks taken with AAA single player games. Got my eye on Death Stranding, i really hope that game is awesome and sells a boat load.

I have never played a game with this level of interaction with the objects around you, this is an amazing experience..

Really loving this game but am I the only one experiencing severe frame rate drops on standard PS4? When faced with a large battle the frame rate drops severely (below 10 fps at least) to the extent of being unplayable. So far it occurs in all of the various areas I've explored (up to mission "Old Boys' Club"). It is most obvious while using telekinesis, and when there are a lot of particle effects flying around the space. I tried moving past it but it is so frequent and jarring that I can't help but question how it was not noticed or mentioned in many of the 80+/100 reviews aggregated on Metacritic. IGN is my top source for reviews and even here no mention was made of the frame rate being an issue on standard PS4. What platform was this review based on? I have the release day version installed to a Seagate external HDD. If anyone else is experiencing the same issue, where have you installed it? I doubt the installation location has anything to do with this but would like to rule that out. Rather I believe this to be a performance optimization issue. Despite that though, the game is sick thus far.

The Force Unleashed with a gun. This game is a delight.

Finally got to play this! Definitely a lot of bugs and has trouble coping with my ps4, but doesn’t ruin it at all. Played so hard, both my eyes were literally bloodshot for a day or so 😂

What happened to the guy that did the game preview? The guy that did the preview said there was a metroidvania element to the progression which isn't mentioned here. Seems like this review is an afterthought in comparison to the work on the preview.

I would love it if they made Alan Wake 2 but open world like the original vision! Imagine being stuck out in the forest at night with the sun going down, knowing that at any moment some beasties are going to be hunting you down, and you have to find somewhere to hide (like a broken down shed) or a way of escaping! Spooky!!
