Jeff Ostroff shows you first-hand the operation of a few different 3D models of the OceanGate Titan submersible where you have the controls from your mouse and you can view and manipulate these 3D Titan Subs to view them from any angle whether from the top the side or the bottom. You will also find links to these 3D apps but you'd better hurry up because some are already being shut down.

There's so little damage to that end section. It just makes me wonder that the failure did start at the very front and then the carbon fiber took the energy so that the very end part, the three flood zone wasn't really damaged at all, it just popped off.I would think if the implosion started at the back.There would be more damage to that section, even though it wasn't pressurized

Another engineer thought the back pulling on the sub prevented that end from caving in, but he thinks it snapped off the welds, allowing the cracked/delaminated, top front to come cascading to the back. The sensors showed the top making a lot of noise at the bottom on the dive after the loud bang. Either way, I hope with all the pieces and analysis, someone can do an accurate render of it's last moments.

That aft section was merely attached with 3 or 4 poorly designed struts which were attached in various ways with stainless bolts to the titanium ring. Wouldn't take much for it to pop off. In many pictures u can actually see those aft struts/ribs were sagging from the weight of the battery's and other equipment.

7:40 The second model a has a much more authentic port window. The port on the first one is not representative of the submersible irrespective of the 'accuracy' of the scuff marks.

This would be kinda morally gray but a “titan simulator” would be an interesting experience. Have a replica cylinder on hydraulics and use a game and screens to make it seem like your diving. Some sort of hammer to simulate banging sounds outside, eventually hitting extra hard one last time and the screens go dark.

Cool, I downloaded 3d print files of these last year. ....Also, I made a tribute to the crew video here on my channel June of 2023 where I modded GTA5 and I steered the Titan Sub down through the Titanic wreckage. It's still on my channel if you want to check it out.

I've always wondered what that plastic bag thing on the tail cone was and after watching a documentary: these are most likely foam cups which were taken down with the sub. They shrink under pressure and were then handed out to the people "mission specialists".

I can't wait to get my hands on a model and put a cel/toon shading render on it because of how satirial the project was. It's satirical. It doesn't deserve a shiny sleak model but it's there Worth the bucks getting a model. Even the idea there's a shiny, shiny, SHINY model just show how it massaged Rush's ego. Being a 3D artist myself, I can respect the craftsmanship of a beautifully made 3d asset. I'll admit, weeks after the Titan implosion, I too started a project in Blender making the Titan sub. However, not much was available in terms of reference photos or drawings and around that time, the conspiracy theorists began crawling out of the wood work to assert their ideas of what might of happened. It just felt a little scummy to continue the project, so I moved on to something else. While I can see how having a physical model of the Titan might serve to educate, I don't believe that is the intention of some of the sellers. I'm not saying it's easy to create 3d assets from scratch, I'm saying it's probably not a great idea to start profiting from a tragedy still fresh in everybody's mind. If anything, it borders the edge between acceptable and insensitive. Bottom line: I don't think I've ever heard of ScetchFab pulling down specific models. If they do, there's a very good reason for it. Just my opinion.

No, it wasn't "never at any kind of pressure", that part was under pressure, just that it was AT ambient pressure. Just like when people walk around are at 1 bar pressure, 1 ATM, one atmosphere of pressure. The "pressurized hull" is unlike a welding gas, propane gas tank not pressured from the inside but from the outside, that means that everything "not pressurized" is - and has to be, by definition - at ambient including temperatures which can be a problem ...

why are people still surprised ratchet strap survived and is still holding? it wasnt exposed to any sudden force change?. if anything it would just slip off because the rear section frame failed, and lost tension.

Mechanically, they're not. There's no need to transmit any mechanical power to the inside of the crew compartment. It's all controlled electrically, and all signals are routed in and out at the rings that interface the carbon fiber cylinder to the titanium ends. Even Stockton Rush knew better than to drill holes in the hull.

As long as they are not making anything disrespectful out of it then fine I'd say. Making 3D models and applications about the sub available, could help engineers work on the subject and bring it forward. This tragedy should really serve as a lesson that we can learn from about safety and innovation. That's what these people died for.
